ASTROLOGY FOR THE WEEK OF JAN 31-FEB 6 2022

MON JAN 31

Today see’s the build up to the New Moon in Aquarius this evening at 9:46 PM PST. This kicks off the week in a cerebral, emotionally detached, and somewhat rebellious, radical, unpredictable mode. Aquarius season can often see people living more in their heads, thinking, analyzing, observing. It’s a more detached and mental energy. The New Moon is conjunct the Sun, Saturn, and square Uranus, while sextile Chiron today. There can be a focus here on goals, hopes, wishes, social networks, social movements, and groups, or plans for the future. For some, there is a radical departure, or a sense of cool detachment, independence, or a quirky, weird, rebellious thinking that accompanies a need to be true to ourselves and individuate from the herd. There can be a wrenching free from being under a boot of authority in some cases, or of being afraid of what others might think of this or that. There can be a feeling of solidarity with like-minded others who share our sentiments, which can give us courage to be more true to ourselves. In either case, there is a theme of confronting power issues or oppressive internal or external forces, or a striving towards justice or just keeping it real is at play with this New Moon. Venus has gone direct, and Mercury will station direct on Thursday evening. Slowly but surely, things that have been off kilter can begin to straighten out, but as is usually the case, the week that Mercury stations either retrograde or direct can be the weirdest points in the transit. There’s a need to get into alignment here, but courage can slowly be building, and this New Moon represents a new path forward and a more unfettered focus on a goal. The Aquarian/Uranian energy calls people to stand for something, -lest they fall for anything.

TUES FEB 1.

Today kicks off the Lunar New Year, the year of the Water Tiger. There’s an experimental, and intellectually detached, and independent energy in the air today with the Moon still in Aquarius conjunct the Sun and Saturn while square Uranus. There’s a certain seriousness here as well, amidst a lot of unpredictability or changes going on socially or otherwise. Weird times, no doubt about it. Mercury Rx conjunct Pluto and sextile Neptune can see an increased, somewhat obsessive focus on a goal, dream, or ideal. Our emotions can be somewhat removed or detached for the time being, as this Aquarius energy is very cerebral, heady, and prone to intellectual pursuits or intellectualizing the emotions. Venus trine Uranus also adds to this sort of detached and independent attitude, but the Venus/Mars conjunction is not short of passion, drive, and desire to experiment. Juno, the relationship asteroid, also enters Aquarius today. This can see unusual pairings, unconventional dynamics, or attractions/interpersonal situations that our outside the norm. Or people can be brought together around shared ideals, goals, hobbies, or a humanitarian vision. The fact that both Venus and Mars are squaring Chiron can see issues of confidence. We may know exactly what we want, but self doubt or inhibition and shyness can hold us back. Given that Venus is still picking up speed and pulling herself together after her long nap, it can take some time to build up confidence, but Mars sextile Jupiter on top of the now forward motion of Venus can help slowly overcome a lack of assertiveness and we can begin to feel more courage or hope. The Moon is void of course for the majority of the day, indicating a good day for preparation, reflection, and planning. Tomorrow can see more inspiration or movement, perhaps something to feel optimistic and motivated about.

WED FEB 2.

Today see’s the Moon in Pisces conjunct Jupiter, and sextile Mars in the goal oriented, lusty Goat. Certainly something has us focused, inspired, and motivated. The imagination can be highly stimulated, and there can be something that has us feeling optimistic. This can also see a drive to seek out more inspiration, pleasure, indulgence, or something that feeds our spirit. This energy can be good for getting things done in seclusion, or building up strength, inspiration or courage. Later, the Moon goes on to also sextile Venus in Capricorn as well as Uranus, and this can see some pleasant, unexpected surprises, socially or interpersonally. Something can have us feeling really inspired or can give us something to smile about. For some, there can even be some mystical experiences, given that the Moon is in Pisces, there can be something low key, or private about this energy, but it’s nonetheless encouraging and inspiring, with a focus on beauty, pleasure, music, creativity, and aesthetic enjoyment. There might be a flash of inspiration or creativity, or something that increases a feeling of joy, pleasure, or inner peace. With Uranus involved, there can be pleasant surprises or something unexpected can shift in social or interpersonal dynamics, or even financial dealings. These are some inspired, mystical, but also down to earth and sensual vibes.

THURS FEB 3.

Today see’s the Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune, seeing the majority of the day largely reflective, perhaps somewhat sleepy, quiet, and peaceful. With Mercury sextile Neptune and conjunct Pluto, there can be a strong focus on something, a sort of fantasizing going on here, our imagination can be very preoccupied with something here. Perhaps thinking of what to say, or how to approach certain communications, or penetrate certain barriers or walls between ourselves and others. The Moon goes on to sextile Mercury and Pluto in the late afternoon, and this could highlight news or communications. This could see some deep talks in some cases, or perhaps something or someone has us preoccupied to distraction. This could see some meaningful discussions, or something we observe or news we receive makes an impact. Conversely, this could simply see us extremely focused on a goal, a creative project, reflecting deeply on a matter, watching, observing, or researching something heavily, with a tunnel vision focus that really puts us into a “zen zone.” The Sun and Saturn also perfect a conjunction today at 15 degrees Aquarius, and this can be a defining moment that underlines a goal in bold marker, and there can be a somewhat serious tone to this as we commit to more focused initiative around something, cutting out distractions, or deciding to no longer waver. Intuitive hunches and “ESP” experiences can be very strong today, it’s the kind of math where you can think about a person at random you haven’t spoken to in some time, and seconds later, that person is in your inbox. Mercury stations direct at 8:13 PM PST tonight, at 24 degrees Capricorn, setting the stage to form a proper strategy or plan going forward, and making it possible to mend communication gaps, align more properly with our goals, or get on the same page as others.

FRI FEB 4.

With Mercury now finally direct, things that may have been in a lurch can finally begin to sort themselves out. It may take some time for certain things to gel, as we move through the shadow phase, but we can finally begin to put these energies behind us and proceed more confidently going forward. The Moon zooms into Aries this morning at 6:57 AM PST, conjunct Chiron and square Mars and Venus. We can feel both challenged and motivated now. We may want to lunge forward in a certain way or go after what we want but it can be difficult to express our feelings. The Moon in passionate Aries squaring Venus and Mars in shy Capricorn today can see us impatient with ourselves, others, or with the constraints of circumstances, or even just with our own inhibitions. Maybe there's an internal battle of wills going on. This can be a mildly frustrating energy, but it’s a call to build up courage. It's clear there's something (or someone) we really, really want, but there's a need to actually do something about it. This can actually wind up being a very productive energy if channeled correctly, and we can be motivated to out do a previous best and make progress where and how we can.

SAT FEB 5.

Today see’s the Moon in Aries sextile the Sun and Saturn in Aquarius, square Venus in Capricorn, and conjunct Chiron. This can see bridges being built between others, or a goal around love, friendship, money, or collaboration of some kind become more clearly defined. The Moon square Venus is a bit shy and reserved, and the contacts to the Sun and Saturn in Aquarius can have a bit too much formality about it, but it’s clear that there is truly a mutual respect here. Perhaps even a certain level of intimidation, but certainly, respect. For some, there can be attraction that is difficult to express, especially when such feelings are accompanied by an equal amount of intellectual respect, or there's vast differences between people. No matter how much you like someone, be true to who you are. People respect authenticity more than people pleasing at the end of the day. This weekend can see some bridges being built or compromises reached between others. With the relationship asteroid Juno now in Aquarius, this emphasizes attractions that go beyond just physical, but also stimulate the mind, and allow for a certain amount of freedom and individuality. The Moon goes on to square Mercury and Pluto, and this can see communications highlighted once again. There can be a certain element of nervousness or even intimidation here, perhaps not knowing what to say or how to act in a particular situation. We may want to blurt something out but may waver back and forth about it, or obsess over something. This can see some impulsiveness or compulsiveness, and it can be hard to get something off our minds this evening. Perhaps a sort of negotiation process is underway here. The Taurus lunation tomorrow afternoon can help bring us back into the body and feel more relaxed and natural about things.

SUN FEB 6

This morning see’s the Moon in late Aries, square Mercury, Pluto, and Juno. This could see us fixating on something, perhaps a goal, but more than likely, something involving communications, or even a particular relationship. It’s possible certain lines of communication or negotiating have already been opened and are already in play, but it’s also possible that this is more of an internal battle or rumination phase that precedes the actual act, but something could be coming to a head here, or about to be. There is definitely something “one track mind” about these particular configurations, so there’s something or someone that’s impossible to ignore or to quit thinking about or obsessing over. It’s a bit of a compulsive energy, maybe a bit choppy at times. With Venus, Mars, Mercury, Pluto, and the asteroid Cupido all lined up together, there’s definitely some powerful chemistry at play here. Fatal attraction vibes. A powerful draw to someone, or… something, like a creative endeavor, a passion project, a financial or business endeavor. But more than likely, this is an interpersonal situation or negotiation of some kind for many people. Some could be embroiled in intense or deep discussions or just…intensely preoccupied with something. The Moon enters earthy and sensual Taurus at 2:52 PM, to conjunct Uranus and trine Mars. As the evening wears on, we could get more courage, drive, or a hair up our ass could twitch and spur us to do or say that thing, or take initiative in some regard, or someone could surprise us. This could shake things up in a positive way, and Monday can kick the week off on to a really interesting start and see some unexpected and surprising shifts.

ASTROLOGY FOR WEEK OF JAN 24-30 2022

MON JAN 24

Mars shifts into Capricorn at the buttcrack of dawn this morning, while the Moon in partnership oriented Libra squares Pluto and the asteroid Juno. With Mercury also about to revisit Capricorn tomorrow, this can see a desire to revisit something. Is it too late? The emphasis on Capricorn suggests it’s not. Mars is exalted in Capricorn, and the first face of Mars in Capricorn is a strategic powerhouse in nature, offering one the power to sever oneself from that which binds and prevents further motion upward towards a goal. This is an ambitious transit, and this feeling can be accentuated by the fact that Venus, Pluto, and tomorrow, Mercury, will also occupy the faces of Capricorn. If there’s something or someone you’ve had your eye on, or something you’re trying to accomplish, these transits offer the strategic determination and disciplined forces to go after whatever heights you’ve been longing to reach. Mars in the first decan of Capricorn is difficult to satisfy, and always longs to reach that “next level.” The Moon sextiles Mars and trines Jupiter before entering Scorpio at 7:57 PM PST, lending an optimism and a feeling that with enough fierce determination, anything is possible. These maths can also see a need to rearrange some things and make way for the changes we’d like to see happen. The tarot card associated with the first face of Capricorn, where Mars now occupies, is the Two Of Pentacles, known as the card of “Harmonious Change.” So what is being embarked upon now is a process, a transition, from one phase of life to another. This is a highly motivated Mars transit.

TUES JAN 25.

Today see’s the Moon in Scorpio square the Sun and Saturn in Aquarius, opposite Uranus in Taurus, trine Jupiter in Pisces, and sextile Venus Rx in Capricorn. We can be motivated by a dream, a private longing or fantasy, an ideal. The lunar squares to the Sun and Saturn place emphasis on the real world push towards change to make way for this. Later on, a lunar trine to Neptune accentuates the fantasy aspect of whatever this is, and the real life work required or the metaphorical or literal pile of dirty dishes can make what we’re trying to achieve feel even more lofty or out of reach somehow. Mercury re-enters Capricorn at 7:05 PM PST, and it’s proximity to Pluto suggests a dogged determination. Even if there are challenges or delays in the interim, or there is a feeling of a race against time, it’s nothing that a solid strategy forward and a genuine desire to improve things can’t overcome. Mercury is still retrograde after all, and will continue to be until Feb 3, so give yourself permission to step back and refresh your mind and spirit, and give yourself space to think and reevaluate your approaches. Communications and issues around transportation, deliveries, etc, can still be a bit hit and miss, or choppy, but this allows time for revamping new approaches, tying up loose ends, and solving problems. Venus will station direct on Saturday, in trine to Uranus, suggesting surprises, or unexpected last minute turn arounds that can open up new exciting phases and shake up patterns of stagnation that we may have become too accustomed to. So Venus will leave this retrograde cycle enlivened. The end of the week can see a turning point of renewal begin. Don’t give up hope.

WED JAN 26.

Today see’s the Moon in Scorpio trine Neptune, sextile Pluto and Juno, and going on to sextile Mercury in the afternoon. We can be keenly focused on something we have high hopes around. Psychic signals can be highly attuned and we can be picking a lot up from the ethers. Mercury connects to the North and South Nodes, suggesting some noteworthy insights, meaningful connections or ESP moments. Inspiration can be easier to come by today, so even if delays or challenges that both Mercury and Venus being retrograde at the same time tend to bring with them, it also creates opportunities to reflect, reevaluate, and master. Don’t let the slowness of certain things fool you, in fact, if you look around you and within you, you’ll find that you aren’t even 100 percent prepared yet for the breakthroughs you may be desiring to see. This is a chance to get more into alignment. Nonetheless, there may be subtle intimations that some positive shifts are on the horizon, which can create the necessary motivation to keep going.

THU JAN 27.

The Moon enters adventurous Sagittarius in the wee hours this morning, forming a sextile to the Sun in Aquarius and a trine to Chiron in Aries, while squaring Jupiter. This can see some optimism reverberating through our social circles or networks, and there can be a morale boost that can increase motivation levels. Venus and Mars get closer together, officially conjunct today, and this can see passion and determination levels growing, and it’s possible that something can feed our determination levels and motivate us to do more. With Venus conjunct Mars and trine Uranus, this can see a bit more bravery and a cavalier approach, and can bring more dynamism to our endeavors or our interpersonal exchanges. We can be less concerned with what other people think, less confined, inhibited or constrained by others opinions, and hence more apt to take risks or experiment a bit with our approaches. The Moon goes on to sextile Saturn, and perhaps this sets a new precedent or solidifies an alliance or some other foundation in some way. Maybe we find through experimenting that there is something we’d like to do more often or more regularly. Either way, the Mercury and Venus retrogrades are a great time to sort out what is realistic from what isn’t. People can be unpredictable.

FRI JAN 28.

Today see’s the Moon in late Sagittarius squaring Neptune, semisquare the Sun, and sesquisquare Uranus. This can see a sensitive, somewhat moody energy that is excellent if you’re artistically or creatively inclined. Feelings can be up and down today, and difficult to express. Maintaining some perseverance and keeping your chin up in the face of any uncertainty you may feel is the best way to handle these energies. The Moon is void of course from 11:00 AM PST, so the majority of the day is best for reflecting and recalibrating, for planning ahead. This weekend will see some decided shifts in the energetic landscape that although perhaps subtle at first, portends a lot of changes. It could actually be really refreshing. So if you can, take today to prepare for this frolicking Goat energy. Venus will station direct tomorrow in the early AM hours of 12:46 PST, so 46 minutes after midnight. This is something to celebrate, as all things Venus ruled can finally begin to get back on track. Maybe it won’t be so subtle at all. Who knows? The Goat does tend to be a bit understated, but the alignments the Moon will make to Venus, Mars and Uranus suggests that this goat energy is ready to bust out of it’s corral and play.

SAT JAN 29.

Venus stations direct in Capricorn at 12:46 AM PST, and the Moon celebrates this by heading into Capricorn at 1:09 AM PST. The Moon conjuncts both Venus and Mars, while trine Uranus and sextile Jupiter, getting the weekend off to an earthy, ambitious, passionate, dreamy, playful and perhaps even flirtatious start. This energy basically epitomizes the frolicking goat. A lunar square to Chiron suggests a bit of vulnerability, shyness, coyness or insecurity, but this goat energy doesn’t seem to let that stop it from bouncing around, tail wagging. This can see some surprises or unexpected behavior from others, but it looks like it’s a pleasant surprise. Mars is sextile Jupiter and trine Uranus, and this is an energy that is less attached to end results and is whimsical enough to say “fuck it”, and act in ways that may be out of character but are actually deeply in character. This can see things get shaken up in a fun, whimsical, enlivening sort of way that can feel like a renewal. This energy is literally a wound up baby goat prancing around and bleeting to it’s hearts content like nobody is watching. A fun and exciting Saturday that can see some unexpected turns in dynamics that can bring some life back to dull routines, or bring in some sort of affirming sign that certain dreams, goals, or ambitions are far from dead, and are in fact, very much alive and well.

SUN JAN 30

This morning see’s the Moon in Capricorn conjunct Mercury, Venus and Pluto, while sextile Neptune. This can see a certain dialogue, discussion, relationship dynamic or goal being revisited or perhaps being salvaged or revived at the last minute just when we had consigned it to the realms of “never gonna happen.”  There can be renewed faith around something, or perhaps news that shifts the landscape considerably. In the very least, there is something to ponder. Whatever this is, ideals and inspiration can be high, and the Sun conjunct Saturn and square Uranus suggests that sweeping changes are being made to allow for new life or dynamic changes to be given more of a solid foundation going forward in the future. We may need to be honest with ourselves or others about current limitations and give ourselves time to catch up to the changes going on, financially or otherwise. Mars is boundlessly motivated to make something happen. Venus now direct, still has a bit of a shadow phase to wade through, but has been given the word “go” from Mars, and Mercury is ready to negotiate, communicate, and build bridges. Today could see some important talks, revelations, or points of agreement, or insights being gleaned that make it clear that things are going to be different going forward, and we aren’t settling for feeling only half alive (I:e; half dead) any longer. This is a commitment to authenticity and improvement. Perhaps this is just the current of motivation we’ve needed to revitalize whatever is stagnant or uproot what is below standard or inefficient in our lives. It could take a bit of time to solidify or catch up, but the impetus is there.

ASTROLOGY FOR THE WEEK OF JAN 17-23 2022

MON JAN 17

Today see’s the Full Moon in Cancer culminate at 3:48 PM PST. The day begins with the Moon opposite the Sun and Pluto while trine Neptune. This can see a reflective mood, while there are also some big transformations going on. Mercury retrograde in Aquarius conjunct Saturn and square Uranus can see some structural changes, and this can see a period of reevaluation of our approach to certain dynamics or endeavors, and a chance to tie up loose ends around certain dangling issues. The Full Moon in Cancer brings up issues of power dynamics in the lives of many people. There can be forces at work which not everyone is in agreement with. The Moon trine Neptune can see people slip through the cracks past powerful or manipulative personalities or protocols, but it can also see people feeling vulnerable, susceptible, or helpless in the face of bureaucracy. Venus retrograde tightens it’s trine to rebellious and independent Uranus, encouraging a self reliant or experimental attitude that can see people improvise around blockades, or challenge them outright, -diplomatically of course, but also cleverly, as Uranus adds the touch of genius to whatever it touches. This can see an air of independence and oddity within personal dynamics as well, and people may need more space to explore or revise their values, tastes, and desires, or they may be attracted to unusual and eccentric personalities or pastimes that are outside their usual terrain. Mercury backtracks through Aquarius, and is gathering new insights in order to confront powerful pulls with more certainty, or for some, confront off the chain, out of balance power dynamics that have gone on for too long. All will require innovative and informed approaches to navigate, and Mercury in Aquarius observes, gathers information, and will eventually weigh souls against feathers and cut to the chase when it reaches Capricorn to conjoin Pluto once again. This Full Moon emphasizes a closing out of old familiar cycles and old patterns that were unpleasant or painful, in order to make way for new, fresh ones, to go forward more courageously and with more certainty. The Moon enters brave and showy Leo at 8:03 PM PST, to trine Chiron, and there can be something new, unusual, experimental, or unexpected that boosts optimism and morale going forward, but this may take some time, discipline or applied effort to fully integrate or align with.

TUES JAN 18.

Today see’s the Moon in enthusiastic Leo opposite Mercury, Saturn, square Uranus, and there’s an intentionality here to shake things up, try something new, learn new things, enter new dialogue, or set a new precedent. Uranus stations direct today as well, and the North Node shifts officially into Taurus. This can see some shifts of priority, and some desire to make forward motion in a project, endeavor, or relationship dynamic, but it can also see some unexpected curve balls that come up that require quick thinking, improvisation, making some changes, or seeking resolution. Certain things won’t be resolved overnight, and can take time, (or negotiation) but there's an impetus to really turn over a new leaf, flip some tables, and shake free of internal or external influences that are restrictive or holding us back. Morale and optimism is high, but there can still be some self doubts or a feeling that there is a pressure to perform (or conform?), with the lunar opposition to Mercury and Saturn, and a tense minor aspect to Mars. There can be a subtle impatience or frustration to get something going or to work through glitches or challenges, and in some ways, we can feel on our own navigating things that we need to develop an understanding of or solution for very quickly, or in the very least…eventually. These aspects suggest a tight learning curve, data gathering, insights gleaned, or a lot of changes that require quick adaptation. A rebellious sentiment can be growing as well, or in the very least, a desire for change. There can be some frustration with impediments, but slow and steady wins the race. With Mercury retrograde, loose ends may also need to be tied up, lingering problems or unexpected hiccups need to be resolved, or a particular dialogue or train of thought needs to be revisited or revised entirely. The Sun reaches 29 degrees of Capricorn this evening, emphasizing the Sun/Pluto conjunction, and this can see some significant shifts in power dynamics or changes taking place. Power, authority, our relationship to it and strategy of navigating it going forward are highlighted here, and as the Sun breaks free from Pluto’s clutches, there can be an increasing sentiment of “fuck this” growing in the atmosphere, even amidst sectors who previously felt comfortable kow towing to Pluto.

WED JAN 19.

The Sun moves into futuristic, humanitarian and rebellious Aquarius at 6:39 PM PST. Happy birthday Aquarius fam! The first half of the day see’s the Sun in the most urgent, final degree of Capricorn. There can be a certain rebelliousness or new, experimental energy in the air, and with the Sun conjunct Mercury, there could be something being brought to a new level or a successful completion. Many people are rethinking their attitudes to power structures, authority, or the structures in their lives generally. Some are doing a complete about face or revision. In the very least, there is an emphasis here on doing things differently than usual and thinking outside the box, (or the Borg.) The Moon in Leo trine Mars in Sagittarius and opposite Saturn can see an open challenge to authority, tradition, or rules in some way, or to the way things have always been done. There can be passion and enthusiasm around creative projects and a sense of entering new terrain. News and communications can reflect a growing free thinking sentiment, a desire to try new things. It can be more and more difficult to repress or to paint being open to experimenting with new, dynamic approaches in a negative light. Soon, it will no longer feel taboo or “shameful” to challenge power, tradition, “protocol”, rules, or established ways of doing things. In fact, it could feel stifling, awkward, or even feel downright wrong and nonsensical not to challenge these things. The Moon in Leo trine Mars is brazen, motivated, confident, has a spine, and is eager and enthusiastic for adventure into new terrain and to embrace a calling back into the Solar Plexus/center of personal power. A minor tense lunar aspect to Chiron can see a compassion for the underdog or the vulnerable, and there can also be a desire to challenge our own previous lack of courage or weaknesses, or to stand up for ourselves, go after what we desire, or enter new, exciting territory. MOTIVATION. Late evening see’s an indulgent lunar opposition to Jupiter, so moderation in all things, even good things and whatever we’re passionate about is a good general rule to abide by here, but it's clear there's something to feel optimistic and excited about. The Sun’s annual entrance into Aquarius shifts the collective focus from our relationship to power, structure, institutions, authority, rules, upward climbs, ambition, mastery, and those in high, untouchable towers- to that of the rabble. The collective itself. The Crowd. The Mob. The Underdog. Social causes, social networks, humanitarianism, groups, friendships, happiness goals, group think, cults, iconoclasts, pariahs, the weird and eccentric, the individuation process away from cults, the common thread we all share, collective concerns, and our hopes and visions of the future. Being open to change, experimentation, and doing things differently can bring improvements across the board.

THURS JAN 20.

The Moon enters improvement seeking and detail oriented Virgo at 6:02 AM PST, still in weak trine to Mars in late Sagittarius, while also opposing Jupiter and trine both Uranus in Taurus and Venus in Capricorn. This can see us optimistic about kicking some changes into gear, and keen to implement beneficial improvements, whether in our day to day routine, health, fitness, pets, diet, beauty, creative projects, garden, or finances, there can be a huge urge to reign in some positive changes and perhaps streamline or revolutionize our approach to something. It can also feel good to be of service to others somehow. This is an earthy, humble vibe that encourages rationality, common sense, and critical thinking that goes against the grain. Especially when “the grain” is clearly rotten and mold ridden. It’s time for change. With Jupiter in imaginative Pisces, there’s also a lot of idealism, compassion, dreaminess, spirituality, and creativity activated here. It can feel good to unite around a common cause with others to eliminate or expose elements of pure fuckery, power abuse, profiteering, waste, and shade that erodes peoples sense of personal agency over themselves, sows division, and is counterintuitive to efficiency, health and well being. In a more mundane sense, these are simply some humble and pleasant maths that emphasize practical, everyday improvements, working together with others in a cooperative, perhaps unconventional sense, and making things more pleasant, aesthetically or otherwise. Calmly and quietly flipping some fucking tables. Serene. Today can also see some enjoyable, unexpected interpersonal developments.

FRI JAN 21.

Today continues the Virgo lunation, where the Moon is still trine both Venus and Uranus, and now opposite Neptune in Pisces. There can be a draw to unusual, spiritual or artistic people or pastimes, and a minor tense aspect the Moon makes to the Sun early on and then Mercury later can see it somewhat challenging to communicate how we’re feeling. It can be frustrating to try, but the lunar link to Neptune can almost make it unnecessary anyhow. Perhaps there’s a particular conundrum or puzzle that needs to be solved. This is good math for creative problem solvers, curious creatives, and mystical types.  A lunar trine to Pluto later on can see a powerful pull towards things, people, or pastimes that move us or sooth us deeply, or there can be a particular issue that has us deeply preoccupied. A growing square to Mars in the late evening can see an impulse towards adventure or a desire for a bit of the unusual take hold this weekend, and this can see Saturday hold some interesting conversations, insights, group discussions, or even ideological debates that pack a lot of substance and can have profound impacts on our own or others thinking, or bring diverse people together around a common cause.

SAT JAN 22.

Today begins with the Moon in late Virgo square Mars in Sagittarius, opposite Neptune, and trine Pluto. Moon/Mars square is a somewhat irritating configuration that can perhaps see a particular bone of contention, ideological conflicts of interest. There can be impatience to improve matters or we can feel bogged down in details when we'd rather run off and play, but perhaps duty, planning, preparation, or organization needs to come first. This can be experienced as positive tension or passion as well. With the Moon opposite Neptune, maybe it’s hard to bring frustrations or desires out into the open, but there can be a desire for clarity, order, and to get to the bottom of something here. Curiously, these maths appear to be bringing people together, in spite of there being signs of argument, tension, irritation, contention, frustration, confusion, or even sharp disagreement with something. It’s possible people are stuffing down their feelings or complaints in some regard, because it could be counterintuitive to confront something outright, complain, rush something, or make demands. The Moon heads into diplomatic, partnership oriented Libra at 2:03 PM PST, highlighting lunar trines to the Sun and Mercury in Aquarius. This can see a draw towards like minded weirdos and fresh intellectual stimulation. Perhaps it’s a shared vulnerability, quirks, sentiment, curiosity, mystery, or eccentricity that brings otherwise radically different people together around shared values or obsessions. This can see a really cerebral, sort of detached vibe in our interactions, and it can be hard to fully relax and reveal our feelings, (this is very Queen Of Swords), but we can be drawn in towards others we feel a kismet with by some kind of inexplicable pull, perhaps to get more clarity, or to revisit something we feel is an unfinished story between ourselves and others.

SUN JAN 23.

Today see’s the Moon in Libra opposite Chiron, square Venus, and trine Saturn. It’s possible someone or something we’re drawn to intimidates us or brings out some kind of feelings of vulnerability. Yet we are nonetheless compelled to finish the story or revisit a communication or project that has perhaps been dropped, shelved, or simply erratic, with the Sun and Mercury still conjunct Pluto. With the Moon in Libra trine Saturn, there’s a coyness or inhibition here, but there’s also a steadiness with the potential to establish a bridge or a dialogue or some sense of stability, perhaps after much uncertainty or delay. There’s a cool reserve here, and this looks largely to do with insecurity and vulnerability. Maybe we feel weak in proportion to what needs to be done. With the Moon in Libra, this is probably a mutual feeling in the case of particular dynamics, so if you’re feeling like a scared little bitch, don’t automatically assume that the other person isn’t just as timid, although such timidity may be expressed in different ways. A particular dynamic or endeavor can become quietly preoccupying over the coming days, and it’s possible that there can be something shifting here to feel optimistic, enthusiastic and passionate about, as new, weird bridges, alliances, and foundations between weirdos are built, that have probably been a long time coming, or have taken ages to properly establish. “The power of weird compels you!”

ASTROLOGY FOR THE WEEK O JAN 10-16 2022

MON JAN 10

Today see’s the Moon in Taurus conjunct Uranus and square Mercury, now in Aquarius, and sextile Jupiter in Pisces for the first part of the day. This can see an irreverent, creative, dreamy, perhaps slightly rebellious vibe. There can be subtle shifts in priorities, viewpoints, or goals. Information coming in can allow for new perspectives, and there can be a tendency to day dream, innovate, or visualize.  There can be an erratic energy that makes it a challenge to stick to time tables or schedules, and the Taurus lunation can see a focus on keeping up with practicalities in the midst of a lot of emotional or social shifts. The Moon goes on to square Saturn while still squaring Mercury, and I can’t help but chuckle at this configuration because it looks like a Ban Hammer. In general, there’s a rebelliousness or surprising energy here that can see people pushed to say what they really think, or to live by their convictions, dreams, or humanitarian ideals, even if it means coming up against challenges. Even if what you think or what you have to say is a little outside the box or challenges established “norms”, these configurations make it clear that you’re not alone in your sentiments. There’s also a focus here on goals and the discipline required to make them happen, and the involvement of Uranus can see a sort of scramble to get things done, and there can be a need to innovate around unstable energies. The Sun’s sextile to Neptune while Mars perfects it’s square to Neptune tomorrow can see dreaminess, compassion, creative inspiration and imagination be highly active this week.

TUES JAN 11.

Today see’s the Moon in Taurus trine the Sun and Venus in Capricorn, while square Mercury, Saturn, and conjunct Uranus. This can see some friction or electricity, there can be some surprising or unexpected news or communications in the first part of the day particularly.  Something pleasing can occur in regards to relationships, love, money, possessions, or values, or people can be unpredictable. The Moon goes on to sextile Neptune, emphasizing the Mars/Neptune square that perfects today at 20 degrees. It's best not to put undue pressure on yourself under this aspect, and to give yourself permission to dream or get in tune with your motivations. There’s a lot of potential for creative power in this aspect, and we can be drawn to unusual people, ideas or causes, but there’s a need to take care, as it can also be a bit of a loopy aspect. The self interested drive of Mars is tempered by the compassion and spiritual nature of Neptune. Some astrological texts warn of drug or food allergies or intolerances with this aspect, so take care that you fully understand whatever you’re putting into your body. Energy levels can be slightly lower or our motivations can be confused. Going after what we want isn't a clear cut process under this aspect. On a whole, it’s a great aspect for creative inspiration, and something can fuel this now. There’s a sort of magic to these aspects, but the lunar square to Saturn can see a lot of inhibitions as well. In the very least, there can be a determination to pull something together in the name of cherished goals that make us feel inspired, and to release things that make us feel tired or drain our energies. In some cases it's an issue of not knowing what you really want, in other cases, we could know what we want, but how to go about getting it could feel unclear or undermined for the time being. The evening see’s a laid back atmosphere, and something or someone can have our devoted attention, or stir within us a lot of inspiration, with the Moon trine the Sun, Venus and Pluto, while sextile Neptune. This can see us thoroughly enjoying something. There's also the potentially for some undercurrents of intensity to accompany these energies. With Pluto involved, things can feel very "all or nothing", "do or die" for some people. The perfection of Mars squaring Neptune this week however suggests a laid back, indirect, relaxed approach, and to avoid placing too much pressure on ourselves or others. It's a slightly draining or loopy energy that can undermine efforts to take initiative.

WED JAN 12.

Today begins with the Moon in late Taurus, trine the Sun and Pluto, and building a square to Jupiter. This can see the focus on transformations and shifts we could be inspired to make in order to align ourselves more fully with what we’d like to see happen. The majority of the day can see us chipping away at something, and perhaps energetically clearing the decks to welcome in a new era. We do have a Full Moon next week in the sign of Cancer, so it’s possible that much of what we’re doing now involves the wrapping up of a particular cycle, energetically sweeping up so to speak, so that a fresh one can be embraced in earnest. The Moon in the final degrees of Taurus today can see a focus on wrapping up some practical affairs, and making slow and steady progress towards a goal on the horizon that perhaps fills us with hope or inspiration. It may even feel a bit lofty or unclear, and the Mars/Neptune square can sap energy and willpower a bit, but with a realistic and patient approach, beautiful things can unfold with time. The Moon enters curious and inquisitive Gemini at 7:08 PM, shifting the focus towards communications, news, and multitasking. Here, the Moon will trine Mercury, while squaring Jupiter, and this can see us very busy, with a lot of errands or things to do. We can also feel optimistic and inspired, but maybe a bit nervous and high strung around certain arrangements, conversations, or bridges being built to the future. A busy and chatty lunation, with a lot of to-ing and fro-ing.

THURS JAN 13.

The Moon in talkative Gemini is trine Mercury, Saturn, square Jupiter, and sextile Chiron today. Something we hear or a conversation we have can boost our morale or have us feeling very inspired and hopeful around bridges being built or new foundations being laid down between ourselves and others, socially, interpersonally, or in regards to business or commercial endeavors. The Moon’s contact to both Mercury and Saturn in Aquarius emphasizes negotiations around getting something more nailed down and established, setting a time or date, getting something in writing, or making a commitment to a particular happiness goal, friendship, group, or cause. A lunar quincunx to Venus tends towards people pleasing, so it’s important not to bend over backwards too much to a point where you wind up resenting something or someone. In genereal, these configurations don’t just want empty promises or to have their hopes uselessly inflated around something, there is an aim here to solidify a bridge or a plan. The Moon goes on to oppose Mars later on, and this can see a need to let off some steam, in the very least least there can be a lot of passion and drive present, but there can also be the potential for some frustration. Maybe there is a whole lot of nervousness around communications for whatever reason. Take a walk (or a run) to calm your nerves if you find this to be the case.

FRI JAN 14.

Today see’s the Moon in curious Gemini opposite Mars and square Neptune, while Mercury stations retrograde in the sign of Aquarius. This can see a nervousness or a shyness that can feel frustrating or result in some squirrelly or avoidant behavior. Minor tense aspect to Mercury suggests communications can be a source of this nervousness, and on the one hand, there can be a need to count to 10 before blurting things out, and on the other, it can feel as if the cats got our tongue. It can feel frustrating to get our point across, and the lunar square to Neptune can see a shy, sensitive nervousness going on that can result in it being difficult to express our true feelings around something. We may need to adjust to the way we view our feelings, or the way that we express ourselves, in order to feel more at ease. Something is being integrated here. It's best not to jump to conclusions during this period of time and to give certain energies some time to settle. Lunar quincunx to Pluto see’s some obsessiveness around something that can make it hard for us to maintain objectivity. A lunar semi square to Uranus contributes even more of this squirrelly vibe of nervousness. At least the lunar contact to Neptune helps make ourselves and others less judgmental. There’s a need here to find our balance.

SAT JAN 15.

This morning see’s the Moon in comfort seeking Cancer, dipping us deeper into the feelings. This see’s the Moon trine Jupiter in Pisces, while square Chiron. It’s possible these configurations prompt some reflection on our own or others vulnerabilities, wounds, or weaknesses, and the patterns or defense mechanisms that may have served us well at one time or another, but have become more of a prison if anything. We can be emotionally generous and sensitive with ourselves and others, but something could prompt us to want to change or to break free from outworn emotional patterns. There can be some surprising dynamics or unusual but inspiring alliances interpersonally with the Moon sextile Uranus and opposite Venus. This is all leading up to a Full Moon on Monday, and we can be releasing ourselves from certain patterns or attachments that have been holding us back from embracing our own happiness more fully. There can be something quietly liberating about this, but it can also make us feel somewhat vulnerable, exposed, or maybe caught off guard before we were ready. Venus trine Uranus wants to shake things up and see some positive changes. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. It's important to factor in the long-term consequences of whatever actions are taken.

SUN JAN 16

Today see’s the Moon in Cancer opposite Venus and Juno, while trine Neptune. This can see a cozy and reflective Sunday, but there can be a subtle build up of intensity with the Moon going on to oppose Pluto. This can see some reflection on the changes and transformations that need to be made and maybe what needs to be released or surrendered to in order to have the courage to go after our goals. Ideals around something can be highly stimulated, and with Venus retrograde trine Uranus but squaring Chiron, there’s a nervousness here, something about our goals, interpersonally or otherwise, can have us feeling excited but also bring out our vulnerabilities. Mercury sextile Chiron suggests communication is the key to bridging the gap and easing feelings of nervousness or intimidation around entering or navigating alien territory. It’s all so out there and weird and new and different that it’s really been a lot to take in, but there’s also something undeniably exciting about following our muse, stepping up to the plate and challenging our own vulnerabilities. Tomorrows Full Moon in Cancer see’s a wrapping up of a cycle in order to enter a new and exciting phase with more courage and bravery.

ASTROLOGY FOR THE WEEK OF JAN 3-9 2022

MON JAN 3

We enter 2022 on a serious and determined, “pull yourself up by your bootstraps and put your money where your mouth is” kind of note, with the Sun and Moon in goal oriented, freal freal Capricorn. Today begins with the Moon conjunct Pluto, Venus retrograde and Mercury. This can see some loose ends being tied up, while some serious bridges are being slowly built, new foundations are in the process of being set. There is low key intensity and major transformation going on. There can be some considerable shifts in relationship dynamics occurring under the surface, in a slow and sustained, but powerful way, and this can pertain to either business or personal. Much of which is still being absorbed, metabolized, and assimilated. Still waters run deep, and what appears like nothing noteworthy on the surface can have a torrent of power, depth, passion and complexity underneath. With Venus retrograde, it’s possible now to take a closer look at something or someone that was overlooked before, and to set ourselves free from limiting mindsets, destructive patterns, and relationships. The New Moon on Sunday highlighted a sort of liberation process that’s been underway. This is some quietly determined but fiercely authentic math, and there may be some unexpected shifts that we're still taking in as the week begins. It can feel intimidating, but compelling or necessary to be authentic with ourselves and others, and follow a particular drive, pull, or path. The Moon heads into radical, experimental, but emotionally detached Aquarius, where it conjuncts Saturn. This can see new bridges being formed and established, or new frontier being reached via social connections, social networking, groups, hopes, wishes, or happiness goals. This can revolve around being true to ourselves somehow. Tomorrow can see some unpredictability or some breaks for independence or liberation. For some, perhaps the need to problem solve on the fly, very rapidly wrap something up, or adjust to shifting dynamics or circumstances.

TUES JAN 4

Today see’s the Moon in Aquarius sextile Mars in Sagittarius, which is square Neptune. This can see us driven by high ideals, perhaps even a bit delirious with desire or enthusiasm. The lunar conjunction with Saturn helps keep our feet on the ground and shoulder to the wheel in order to focus on matters at hand to achieve our lofty aims. Maybe there’s something sort of intimidating about something we want. The Aquarius lunation is fiercely authentic, and the sextile to Mars actively puts feelers out to explore territory in order to build bridges to the future. Things will begin to feel more solid and certain when Mars enters Capricorn on Jan 24. Until then, Mars remains adventurous but somewhat shy, tentative, and sensitive with it’s square to Neptune, and intuition is required to feel things out to discern what’s workable and what isn’t. Today can see some more surprising shifts or curve balls, but the focus is on solidifying new or slowly unfolding alliances and/ or goals. There can be some nervousness, excitement and electricity in the air around something that really inspires us.

WED JAN 5.

Today see’s ideals, intuition, ESP, and fantasy highly activated with the Moon in late Aquarius getting cozy with Jupiter, freshly dipped into Pisces. This brings greater attention to the area in your natal chart that Jupiter recently re-entered, and to the adjustments being made in order to accommodate a greater focus and dedication to something close to our heart that deeply inspires us. There can be a lot of optimism around something, and with Venus sextile Neptune and conjunct Pluto, there’s also the discipline, patience, determination, and obsession required to manifest a dream into being. There can also be a lot of compassion and humanitarianism afoot. The Moon enters sensitive Pisces at 4:17 PM PST, and this can see an immersion into something that’s been calling to us for a while. This is an inspiring, dreamy, creative and expansive energy, and we can be feeling optimistic and contented around a dream. Tomorrow can see drive and motivation along with inspiration, or strokes of creativity, genius, or serendipitous experiences.

THUR JAN 6.

Today see’s the Moon in dreamy Pisces square Mars in Sagittarius, sextile Uranus, conjunct Neptune, while going on to sextile the Sun later. There can be some surprising insights, or even some weird synchronicities. There’s a passionate energy to these configurations that’s gentle, nerdy and shy. Perhaps we doubt ourselves a little, or maybe there’s an uncertainty about our own capabilities or whether we are aiming too high. Maybe the truth is we haven’t been aiming high enough, and our own under confidence has been the impediment the entire time.  The creative imagination, our ideals, and our sensitivity to beauty, aesthetics, fantasy, and subtlety can be vivid and feel highly attuned or engaged. The Moon goes on to sextile Venus in the later evening hours, and this can see a drive towards the beautiful, and the unusual. Pleasure can be found in quiet places or quiet ways, such as through artistic, creative, or spiritual pursuits. It’s a dreamy, poetic, and imaginative vibe that carries a vibe of unconditional love that surpasses time, space, silence, and pettiness. The Moon will go on to sextile Pluto tomorrow, suggesting a sort of surrender to an irresistible pull or process.

FRI JAN 7

Today see’s the Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune and sextile Pluto, and this can see a surrender to something that compels us. We can get lost in something that we can’t stop thinking or fantasizing about. It’s also possible that something or someone compels our love or compassion. The lunar contacts to Neptune and Pluto is somewhat hypnotic, compulsive, and deeply mystical. Maybe we give ourselves permission to feel our feelings or explore something buried. This can also see something constructive manifesting, perhaps even some dreams coming true. The Moon enters Aries to conjoin Chiron at 9:26 PM PST, and this can see courage, enthusiasm, and drive around something that’s unfolding. There can be a lot to talk about this weekend, and bridges can be built, new people or new elements can enter into the fold.

SAT JAN 8.

Today begins with the Moon in Aries sextile Mercury in Capricorn while conjunct Chiron. This can see courage to take initiative in regards to communications. Perhaps we’ve been intimidated to broach certain topics or enter certain discussions or territory before. Today affords us more courage and a sense of adventure. The Moon goes on to sextile Saturn and trine Mars, indicating new foundations being laid down socially or otherwise, and the courage and drive to expand our world somehow, perhaps through interactions with others. This could see some interesting alliances being formed. The Moon goes on to square Venus and the Sun in Capricorn, whatever is transpiring may have been a long time coming, or perhaps we’re looking more closely at something or someone we once overlooked. There’s a lot of passion in this math, but the lunar contact to Saturn understands the importance of pace, timing, patience, and endurance, and the value of small gains. Interpersonally or socially, something can make an impact this weekend.

SUN JAN 9.

Today see’s the Moon in Aries squaring the Sun, Venus, Juno, and Pluto in Cap, while trine Mars in Sagittarius. Interpersonally, things can definitely be headed into new territory. There can be some tension (positive or negative) as shifts in interpersonal undercurrents are navigated and explored more deeply. The lunar trine to Mars is not short of enthusiasm and a more adventurous attitude emotionally speaking. Something absolutely has to be explored, in the name of authenticity, certain stones must be turned over. Whatever changes are afoot here can lead into expansive territory and have us following our muse. It can feel exciting and intimidating all at once. Again, it bears mentioning that our path forward will become more solid and certain once Mars enters Capricorn on Jan 24th. This Mars cycle, along with the Venus retrograde, is exploratory in nature, and the more true we are to ourselves and whatever we are called towards, the more we will get out of this cycle. It’s weird to say this, but if you’re a bit nervous or intimidated about what you’re pursuing right now, it’s probably a good sign you’re moving in the direction of your souls growth.
