ASTROLOGY FOR THE WEEK OF AUG 29-SEP 4 2022

MON AUG 29

The Moon enters Libra this morning to conjoin Mercury, trine Mars and oppose Jupiter, bringing focus to the area of your chart ruled by Libra, and highlighting something we’re excited about, as well as a balancing act and negotiation phase that will need to get underway. The Sun’s ingress into Virgo along with the New Moon and the retrograde station of Uranus last week perhaps saw some breakthroughs, last minute illuminations, or surprise revelations, but also some reality checks. Venus in Leo opposite Saturn and square Uranus is between worlds, and the Saturn/Uranus square highlights a balancing act between vital and necessary progressive change, evolutionary leaps forward, -and the preservation of essential structures and traditions. With Venus in the crossfire of these configurations, values, money, pleasure, possessions, and partnerships of all kinds are all highlighted, and Mercury’s entrance into Libra, which will station retrograde on Sep 9th, kicks off a negotiation and reevaluation phase. Today brings our attention to something that motivates us onward and upward, and how we’d like to get on the same page with certain others while also preserving our own autonomous vision. The Sun in Virgo squaring Mars is motivated to make improvements, clear space, and cut out the deadweight in order to streamline and make room for dynamic expansion and new life. Today can see some motivating conversations or news. A lot of busyness and fresh stimulation along with recent insights or revelations can inspire people out of ruts. With the Moon in aspect to Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter, there’s everything to play for, and the Sun in Virgo squaring Mars is mobilized to action and eager to see improvements.

TUES AUG 30

The Moon in harmonizing Libra is trine Saturn, opposite Chiron Rx, sextile Venus in Leo, and square Pluto today. There’s an inner self confidence, ambition, and resilience here that motivates people forward, while under the surface, passions can simmer that function as a huge impetus for change and transformation. The Moon sextile Venus and square Pluto is charming, charismatic, convincing, driven and highly magnetic. There’s a subtle intensity, crackle, spark, and magnetism that can be present under the surface of certain interactions today. This submerged spiciness can positively fuel ambition and be very motivating. It can also feel satisfying to be productive or make headway on a goal. There can be a desire to bring more liveliness or openness into certain exchanges, and there’s a sincerity here that’s warm and engaging.

WED AUG 31

The Moon in Libra squares Pluto and trine’s Pallas, highlighting intense undercurrents or compelling pulls in certain dynamics. There can be a strong desire to open certain discussions or negotiations, but it can’t be forced. Timing is important, and there can be a need to form a game plan or strategize. The Moon goes on to enter Scorpio at 10:11 AM PST, where it will quincunx Mars and Jupiter, which can see some nervous tension, and some need to make adjustments, and perhaps slow down a bit and try not to overstretch. There’s a lot of passion, enthusiasm and sensitivity here, as well as a certain amount of electricity and tension. The Moon sextile the Sun in Leo this evening can see it easier to express certain feelings, take certain risks, or approach taboo topics.

THURS SEP 1

The Moon in intense Scorpio squares Saturn, Venus, opposes Uranus, and trine’s Neptune and Juno. This is a pretty impassioned energy, and there can be some intensely felt ideals or hopes around certain interactions or endeavors. These configurations highlight the Saturn/Uranus square, and a pronounced desire for change can be felt, but there’s a need to overcome certain inhibitions or stagnant patterns, without sacrificing the the essential structures and longterm goals that sustain you. So a process of integration is underway. People might be a bit scattered or unreliable today. The Moon in Scorpio trine Neptune is sensitive and intuitive, and gently dissolves barriers or intuits the psychological landscape. The Moon opposition to Uranus is restless, inquisitive, and drawn to unusual people and pastimes, and craves for change on a deep level. There can be weird urges or callings, but a need to overcome a sense of inadequacy or inhibition, but also to be wise and cautious about risks. There needs to be a happy medium that is able to ring in healthy, life affirming changes while minimizing any potential disadvantages of doing so. A lunar semisquare to Mercury can see conflicts between head and heart, and a minor lunar aspect to Jupiter while squaring Saturn can see a lot of enthusiasm and optimism felt while at the same time, some intimidation, or other internal or external blockages that can feel like the cat got your tongue. The tension can make for some interesting dynamics, but it might help to count to 10 to avoid reactionary responses.

FRI SEP 2

The Moon in late Scorpio this morning squares Venus in Leo, is trine Neptune, sextile Pluto, and builds in opposition to Mars and trine to Jupiter as it inches closer to Sagittarius. This can see an electric excitement, optimism, momentum, and sense of adventure building. The Moon enters Sagittarius at 3:39 PM, and this can see a certain giddy excitement kick off the weekend. There’s an optimism and expansiveness here that can be eager to enter new terrain or expand horizons. There’s a lot of physical and mental energy here, so letting off steam with a good outlet can be helpful. Routines may need adjustment or space may need to be cleared or prepared this weekend to accommodate adventurous plans, spontaneous get togethers, or steps outside certain comfort zones. With Venus sextile Pallas, it’s possible that certain plans or desires have been in the works or in the back of peoples minds for some time now. The Moon opposite Mars highlights the need to alchemize disparate but complementary elements. Curiosity leads the way.

SAT/SUN SEP 3rd and 4th

The Moon in Sagittarius opposes Mars and squares the Sun in Virgo, which is squaring Mars, and this can see a lot of action, and an eagerness to clear the way for things that feed the spirit, widen horizons, and satiate a sense of curiosity. The Moon in Sagittarius is trine Jupiter and Chiron, and sextile Mercury in Libra in the early part of the day. This can see positive interactions that boost morale, and there can be a broadminded generosity of spirit and a lot of passionate exchanges that could even have a sort of healing undertone. Conversations can be philosophical, and differences between others can be a source of interest and excitement. The Sun in Virgo begins a trine to Uranus Rx today, seeing a strong drive to implement positive changes to routines and everyday matters in order to make the very best of our respective situations as this aspect plays out. It can also coincide to illuminating certain problem areas so that improvements can be made. Venus enters Virgo at 9:05 PM on Sunday, while the Moon is in Capricorn, seeing the planet of love, pleasure and money embark upon a self improvement kick. Venus is humble and devoted in Virgo, and there can be an inner conflict between keeping things simple or abandoning oneself to pleasure. Traditionally considered to be in her fall in Virgo, Venus here is extremely particular in her tastes and desires, and is skilled at finding flaws, and for this reason, Venus here can often produce a certain loneliness and chastity, as her standards are high. The other side of this coin can see Venus in this face be taken advantage of due to her humble and innocent nature here. Self improvement, elimination, preparation, organization, health, healing, organizing, purifying, cleansing and perfecting things are arguably the best uses of Venus through Virgo. As long as people don't get overly caught up in perfectionism, this transit can be hugely beneficial in making positive changes and making their lives more efficient. Along with self care, animal companions are highlighted under Virgo. Make sure to give them some extra TLC under this transit. The Sun in Virgo is also sesquisquare to Pluto, which emphasizes improving our ability to become more comfortable with being totally authentic and true to ourselves, and revealing certain aspects of ourselves to others without shame or complex. With Venus now in Virgo, this same emphasis will naturally extend into the interpersonal, social and creative sphere. Evening see’s the Moon sextile Saturn, which can see a certain thoughtfulness and a feeling of balance between our own needs v.s our responsibilities to others.

ASTROLOGY FOR THE WEEK OF AUG 22-28 2022

MON AUG 22

The Sun flexes at peak Leo (29 degrees) today while the Moon is in Cancer, emphasizing a more humble focus on the little things, the foundations that make life cozy and tick away smoothly.  There’s an awareness of ones own abundance and blessings here, with the Moon in Cancer squaring Jupiter and Chiron Rx in Aries, and although Venus in Leo keeps the party vibes going with a trine to Jupiter and and an exciting square to Uranus, she makes an opposition to Saturn that keeps us tethered to reality. This can be helpful with Mercury in Virgo opposite Neptune and trine Pluto, which can see an intense focus on unusual or mysterious things, wistfulness, dreaminess, wishful thinking, intrusive thoughts, or analysis paralysis.  The Sun enters 0 degrees Virgo at 8:16 PM PST, shining attention on how to make the most efficient and humble uses of our various bounties, blessings, the terrain we preside over, and the position we find ourselves in. This is a math equation that will play out over the Mars in Gemini cycle that will revolve around a balancing act between different goals and desires, and making it all gel together somehow into cohesion with dexterity and adaptability. Virgo season highlights the issue of making various systems of life function more smoothly and efficiently, making improvements, perfecting, cleaning, clearing, eliminating, purging, organizing, healing, and being helpful and of service. Given the other configurations in play, there can be a nervous excitement and cautious enthusiasm surrounding certain matters.

TUES AUG 23

Today can see some surprises or interesting downloads or insights, with the Moon in cozy Cancer trine Neptune and sextile Uranus. It also opposes Pluto, which can see an underlying intensity or a certain “research and development” quality to the day, perhaps a sort of investigatory vibe where something or someone has our interest and we want to find out more. Mercury is trine Pluto, so there’s a thoroughness around getting to the bottom of any mysteries, and seeing as Mercury is opposite Neptune, there are definitely interesting mysteries, or in the very least, compelling pulls down certain rabbit holes, or to highly unusual people, situations, or discussions. There may be something revealed, or a certain insight is gleaned, either from within, or via external sources. The Moon trine Juno highlights quiet support from behind the scenes, telepathic links, or wordless bonds. The Moon sextile’s Mercury later on this evening, which can highlight communications or news of significance. Uranus, planet of change, shock, illumination, and all things weird, stations retrograde tomorrow. It makes 2 major aspects of significance, a square to both Venus and Saturn, both of which are currently opposed. It’s sextile to Juno suggests this retrograde cycle will revolve primarily around relationships, and in particular, negotiating the dichotomy surrounding the desire for independence, freedom and individuality, with the desire for companionship and the benefits it also has to offer. Venus opposite Saturn, while they are both squaring Uranus while it stations direct suggests a sort of crunch time and an internal sea change in relationships, finances, creativity, self worth, self esteem, values, morals, authenticity, and personal character.

WED AUG 24

The Moon enters confident and enthusiastic Leo at 6:09 AM PST, where it conjoins Venus, sextile’s Mars and Jupiter, which can see more courage, passion, and drive. This can see an overall atmosphere that is open to risk taking, pleasure seeking, or braver actions than usual, although Mercury in the final degrees of Virgo can be a bit nervous or prone to analysis paralysis. The overall mood can be positive, and there can even be pleasant surprises. Uranus stations retrograde at 6:54 AM PST, and it’s sextile to Juno, with Venus and Saturn both squaring Uranus as well at this retrograde station definitely highlights relationships. This trend is further reinforced by Mercury’s entry into ‘let’s make a deal’ Libra tomorrow evening, kicking off a Mercury cycle focused on compromise, harmonizing, cooperation, and getting on the same page as others for mutual benefit. Today can see some inching forward in a certain direction. It’s possible to see some people act out of character, and in some cases, this can be due to repression. With Venus opposite Saturn, the Sun squaring Mars, and the Moon opposite Pluto the day Uranus stations retrograde, this can see some weird or wild things come to the surface, now, or over the coming days or weeks. The Sun sesquisqaure Chiron can see some vulnerability around self expression, either due to fears or rejection, lack of confidence, or fears around imposing on others. This aspect requires patience, compassion and understanding for yourself and others. There may be unclear parameters and confusion mixed with suppressed instincts or desires that can cause people to behave strangely or not know what to do with themselves.  Evening can see a pleasant time and morale can feel uplifted. There can be excitement and change in the atmosphere.

THURS AUG 25

The Moon in pleasant conjunction to Venus and trine to Jupiter and Chiron comes in opposition to stern and sticky Saturn, and a square to exciting Uranus. The Moon semisquare Mercury in 29 degrees of Virgo can see an anxiousness surrounding the responses to and from others. The Moon opposite Saturn can see some inhibitions, fears, intimidation, boundaries, or other challenges. Perhaps a feeling of a brick wall. Maybe something has come as a bit of a shock. With Venus opposite Saturn, it's reaching a crunch point where either clear and definite boundaries are permanently erected, or walls of ice or frustrating impediments are slowly melted and patiently chipped away at. Mercury, at the most urgent degree of Virgo, is still trine Mars, Pluto, and opposite Neptune. This may see, or may have seen, a desire to lunge forward into unclear territory out of pure instinct, compulsion, and curiosity, with little to no information to go on, which can see this final degree of Mercury in Virgo a bit anxious and perhaps overly cautious or a bit worry prone. The Moon square Uranus can see excitement, shock, or surprise. Maybe there’s been some provocative behavior on the part of others (or ourselves?) Or some other weird, wild or unusual situations. Mercury enters conciliatory Libra at 6:03 PM PST, strengthening it’s trine to Mars in Gemini. This can see discussions flow more freely, and perhaps there’s certain things revealed that can help negotiate an understanding of certain social, interpersonal, or financial situations, untie sticky situations, clear up misunderstandings, get the lay of the land, or make certain things clear. There might even be a risk of oversharing here, as there’s certain signatures of suppression combined with other signatures of truth serum, shocking reveals, or “phucket” moments. Mercury in Libra will seek to find the right balance.

FRI AUG 26

The Moon in late Leo conjoins the Sun in preparation for the New Moon in Virgo tomorrow. Along with the Sun, the Moon goes on to square Mars in Gemini, which can see passions, emotions, and impulses gain a lot of impetus and momentum, and in some cases, this can cause some tension if our own desires are out of step with others, so it’s helpful to have a good physical outlet. These aspects are very passionate, curious, creative, fun seeking, and driven towards risk taking and even being a bit risqué, or just more open and brave than usual. Mercury in opposition to Jupiter while trine Mars can desire to be an open book and shoot from the hip, seeking an outlet for the passionate and impulsive energies. Things can feel optimistic. The Moon enters grounded and efficient Virgo at 5:25 PM PST, intensifying the squares to Mars. There can be a lot of physical energy here that seeks an outlet. This could be frustrating, or it can be tremendously productive, energizing, life affirming. It could be a bit of all of the above, as one can beget the other. These aspects might see some impatience, anxiousness, busyness, or irritability, and a lunar sesquisquare to Chiron can see some sensitivity or frustration around understanding or expressing the feelings. The New Moon is exact in the wee hours.

SAT AUG 27

The New Moon occurs at 1:17 AM PST at 4 degrees Virgo. This is a humble yet fruitful decan. This face of Virgo is ruled by the 8 of pentacles in the tarot, which speaks of a great care and attention paid to small matters, hard work, repetition, and consistency, for an eventual fruitful bounty. In “The 36 Airs Of The Zodiac”, an anonymous text from the Hellenistic era, this decan of Virgo was named “prudence”. It’s an interesting decan, with associations with the goddess Themis, the Oracle Of Delphi, virgins, chastity, as well as very literal associations with farming, harvest, and the fruits of the land. Careful cultivation, prudence, preparation, delayed gratification, and a deep understanding of the laws of nature and the prima materia preside over this face of Virgo. As Austin Coppock writes in “36 Faces: The History, Astrology, and Magic of the Decans”, “The succulence and beauty of fruit and flower are the contradictory result of abstention and fastidiousness.” It speaks of the difference in quality between the touched and the untouched, the benefits of hard work, and the inevitable glory that follows humble and consistent efforts, the virtues of postponing pleasures, not rushing organic processes, and the importance of allowing fruit to ripen before it's picked. There can be a tension experienced at this decan between abstention and indulgence, and the Moon here can be prone to abandoning itself to (well deserved) whims. In “Degrees Of The Zodiac”, Esther V. Leinbach say’s of this degree of Virgo, “Necessity is the mother of invention”, and given that this New Moon along with the Sun,- is squaring up to Mars, the planet of passion, in Gemini, it’s possible that this tension could be acutely felt. Having a good outlet will help. Venus perfects it’s opposition to Saturn today and tomorrow, which can accentuate blocks, inhibitions, fears, and a certain peevishness, so if in doubt, err on the side of minimalism, and a less is more approach. This degree of Virgo is ultimately one of harvest, cultivation, and all organic processes and phenomena, literally and figuratively, -which can't be forced. Fruit picked too soon is bitter with the taste of force and haste, but fruit that is allowed to ripen and fall, but not eaten at all, is a wasteful application of virtue. The art of tming is important. This New Moon can produce interesting harvests and plant weird, wild seeds. The Moon goes on to trine Uranus in the evening, suggesting new insights, or surprises, but an opposition to Juno and an awkward quincunx to Jupiter and Chiron can bring out an anxiousness around expansion and wanting more, which can see some vulnerable spots. The key is being content and thankful for the beauty and simplicity of what's already naturally occurring and how far you have come. There can also be a desire to get on the same page as certain others, whatever that page is.

SUN AUG 28

The Moon in Virgo trines both Uranus and Pluto, while opposing Neptune. This can see strange or surprising dynamics, compelling pulls to unusual subjects or people, or a desire to clear up misunderstandings or get to the bottom of something. Venus opposite Saturn perfecting at 20 degrees can see a certain coldness or modesty. Perhaps it's shyness, but it can also manifest as an enduring attraction and a sense of loyalty and devotion. It’s a bit of an inhibiting, reserved influence that contains within it a great deal of creativity, persistence and resourcefulness in the face of what might not feel like very promising odds. There may even be some milestones being reached. The lunar trine to Pluto can almost relish the challenge that any weirdness, intrigue, mystery, or resistance represents. Mercury trine Mars can be quick to grasp new ideas, and unafraid to say what it thinks. There’s a need to strike a balance between being afraid to express the true authentic self, and going a tad overboard. A little could go a long way. There can be a high sensitivity to subtlety, innuendo, serendipity and synchronicity as well, with the Moon trine Pluto and opposite Neptune. Evening see’s communication more highlighted, as the Moon in late Virgo conjoins Mercury. Monday may see some passionate discussions, or some floodgates of communication open, perhaps certain things are made more clear. Venus will join the Sun and Mercury in Virgo next Sunday, and the awkward, strained, somewhat frigid influence of Venus opposite Saturn lets up by next Friday, giving way to a more enlightened perspective on certain issues.

ASTROLOGY FOR THE WEEK OF AUG 15-21 2022

MON AUG 15

The week begins with the Moon in Aries conjunct Jupiter and Chiron Rx, while semisquare Mars in Taurus. The Moon goes on to also trine the Sun in Leo.  The early part of the day can be slightly irritable with the lunar semisquare to Mars, and there can be a bit of vulnerability for one reason or another, and the conjunction to Chiron can see a desire to look after loved ones. A bit of a protective instinct can be apparent, and there can be a lot of empathy here as well. The lunar conjunction to Jupiter isn’t super strong, but there can be a desire to maintain optimism in spite of potential frustrations or changes in plans. The Sun is still opposite Saturn and square Mars, although in good news, Mars has relented on it’s opposition to Saturn. This awkward Sun/Saturn opposition will ebb off as the week progresses, but for the time being is still active and a bit frustrating and grinding. A Sun/Neptune quincunx can accentuate feelings of longing or sensitivity to the environment, and perhaps a desire to escape reality. There may be certain cues or circumstances that call for simplifying plans, or pairing down and reducing expectations, but some people will want to push ahead with things anyway, which could potentially add to tensions. Venus in Leo in trine to Jupiter wants to party and enjoy itself. Other influences are less accommodating, so there may be certain things going on that cramp the party vibes for the time being that call for a more realistic approach.

TUES AUG 16

The Moon in late Aries is squaring Pluto while trine the Sun as the day kicks off, which can see some intensity behind things. A strong desire to shake things up and have a good time can feel at odds with other things going on, and the Sun still opposing Saturn can make it feel like certain forces are stopping people from doing what they want or generally hampering the vibe. The Moon square Pluto can generate intense feelings and produce a sort of dramatic or foreboding atmosphere that makes things feel kind of heavy or loaded. The Moon enters easy going Taurus at 7:22 PM PST, where the Moon will square Venus and insist on simplifying things and staying grounded, which may be at odds with more extravagant and boisterous vibes that want to let their hair down and party like Andrew W.K. There can be a certain awkwardness in the atmosphere that makes it slightly difficult to completely relax, or a sort of hemmed in feeling, but again, the Sun opposite Saturn will lessen as the week wears on. In the meantime, the Sun squaring Mars, while Mars is trine Pluto can see excess energy funneled into sweeping changes or revisions that need to happen anyhow. There can be a clearing out process in certain regards to make room for fresh energy.

WED AUG 17

The Moon in Taurus (exalted) is squaring Venus while semisquare Neptune, and goes on to conjoin Uranus, which can see a certain restlessness or excitement building throughout the day. There can be a drive towards pleasure, and things can be surprisingly pleasant. The Sun squaring Mars while still opposite Saturn can see frustration funneled into tremendous productivity and perhaps sweeping changes. There can be an innovative vibe building throughout the day and perhaps a need to think on our feet, or in the very least, have alternative back up plans should it be necessary. This is brought home even more when the Moon forms a trine to Mercury in crisis prevention Virgo, which is opposite Neptune, and this can see tomorrow filled with communications and perhaps last minute action plans being formed, or a need to accommodate the unexpected. Things can feel a bit uncertain, and there can be edgy or unpredictable influences to contend with that can cause a bit of anxiousness.

THURS AUG 18

The Moon in Taurus squares the Sun and Saturn, while conjunct Mars, Uranus, and the North Node, and trine Mercury in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn. There’s a need here for resilience and resourcefulness, and Mars at the most urgent degree of Taurus can see some impatience with certain situations or circumstances. This decan of Mars in Taurus is not easy. Venus trine Jupiter keeps spirits high and courageous in the face of any challenges. A lunar sextile to Neptune later on can see compassion and sensitivity to the environment, an “ear to the ground” sort of vibe that operates on instinct and responds accordingly. A lunar semisquare to Jupiter suggests that there are options and alternatives if certain plans go awry. The Moon squaring Saturn and the Sun can have people feeling a bit at odds with certain things that are happening, and for one reason or another, it can be a challenge to stick to a time table. Mercury opposite Neptune can see compassion and humanitarianism, but also foggy thinking or a lack of clarity, while the trine Mercury forms to Pluto scans the environment for anything that requires a rapid assessment or quick action, -or signs that certain challenging influences will let up.

FRI AUG 19

The Moon enters multitasking Gemini this morning, which will be followed by Mars tomorrow. The Moon in early Gemini is conjunct Mars in 29 degrees Taurus. Mars in this decan of Taurus is difficult, and is associated with folly, disaster, and hubris. It could just be annoyance with small things. The most positive octave of Mars in this face of Taurus is expressed as courage in the face of great challenges. As the day progresses the vibes change pretty significantly and mellow out quite a bit with the Moon in sextile to Jupiter and Venus. There can be a general pleasantness and sociability, and generosity in the atmosphere that can take the edge off of Mars in it’s final degree of Taurus in tension with the Sun, although there can still be a bit of impulsivity driving certain things. An awkward solar quincunx to Pluto can make it hard to find a sense of direction, and there can be a bit of a compulsive drive or a certain heaviness that people are eager to escape from.

SAT AUG 20

Mars enters Gemini at 12:56 AM PST, which see’s the planet of passion, assertion, aggression, and conflict in a prolonged journey through the sign of the twins. Look to the area of your chart ruled by Gemini to see which life area will be energized by this extremely long Mars cycle. The Moon in Gemini is trine Saturn Rx in Aquarius and sextile Chiron, and goes on to square Mercury and Neptune as the day wears on. There can be a sensitivity here, and a desire to lighten things up, but also some uncertainty or nervousness that we can be keen to stabilize. There’s an emotional resilience and inner stability with the Moon trine Saturn, and a lunar conjunction to Pallas suggests a need to retreat or form a strategy. The ingress of Mars can be felt as quite a sea change, and there can be an excess of energy or stimulation that can overtax the nervous system, but there can be a lot of variety available as well. Things can be a bit confusing or uncertain, and there can be a lot of weighing up pros and cons. With the Sun no longer opposing Saturn, things can be lightning up and feeling less tense or constrained.

SUN AUG 21

The Moon in talkative Gemini is trine Saturn for the early part of the day, and sextile’s the Sun, and squares Mercury and Neptune, and goes on to square Jupiter when the Moon enters Cancer at 5:29 PM PST. This can see a day focused on unwinding, relaxing, hunkering down, and perhaps planning ahead or preparing to innovate if necessary. Venus trine to Chiron can see some healing relief or some kindhearted influences can boost morale and uplift the spirit. The Sun square Mars wants to take risks and feels less held back and constrained by Saturn. A good day to settle into the Mars ingress. This passionate planet stations retrograde on Oct 30, and won’t go direct until Jan 12th of next year, so the area of your chart it’s traversing gleans extra emphasis and importance during this Mars cycle.

ASTROLOGY FOR THE WEEK OF AUG 8-14 2022

MON AUG 8

Venus is now directly opposite Pluto, a configuration perfected at 26 degrees. This can see people becoming more focused on what really matters to them, and what (and who) will still be around when all is said and done. In some cases, this can be felt as a sort of “test” of the resilience of certain endeavors, values, dynamics, projects, social and personal interactions.  Who and what is of value to us, and who and what truly values us in return. The Moon reinforces this configuration by entering Capricorn at 11:39 AM, forming a trine to Mercury in Virgo while square Jupiter Rx in Aries. This shows a practical focus, and there can be a sort of studious, or meticulous application here, and perhaps a proclivity towards seeing if certain dreams, dynamics, or situations are still salvageable. Whatever is extraneous, not working, or not going anywhere can be dropped so that energies can be funneled to the roots and limbs that actually have life in them, (and not just merely the idea or hope of it.) There could be some anxiety or vague worries. With Venus opposite Pluto perfecting along with Mars squaring Saturn, there can be a tendency towards black or white, all or nothing thinking, or a desire to get to the bottom of something once and for all, perhaps out of frustration. It might be wiser to take a more temperate approach if you find yourself feeling particularly thwarted, worried, or frustrated, as the conclusions people may leap to under these configurations may be fueled more by pessimism or submerged and frustrated desires than by the actual reality of certain situations. However, this shouldn’t impede constructive action taken on other fronts, and these configurations can be quite productive when it comes to making improvements or preparing ground to make room for positive changes, particularly around improving more vulnerable areas.

TUES AUG 9

The Moon is squaring Jupiter in the early morning, which can see a restless start to the day. It also forms trines to Mercury, Mars, and Uranus, while squaring up to Chiron. Although there may be an element of vulnerability, anxiousness, vague worries, indecision, or perfectionism, this is pretty well camouflaged by a stoic, grounded and practical veneer. Any subtle vulnerabilities find an easy outlet in practical tasks, things within our control, making improvements, and our broader, long term goals and ambitions. The Moon opposes Venus in Cancer as the day wears on into evening, while conjoining Pluto and sextile Juno. Although moods can be up and down in certain spots throughout the day, the configurations at play are encouraging breaking out of particular ruts or patterns of stagnation to invite more opportunities for dynamic growth, upward mobility, and authenticity. Overall, these are some driven maths that can keep people busy and eager to improve their lot. The beauty and essence of the Mars/Uranus/North Node conjunction that we continue to feel the impacts of is that it’s oddly very tantric in nature. Getting the best out of it and unlocking it’s potentials comes down to wanting and valuing what you already have. It’s also an opportunity to recalibrate certain core values and to discard what is no longer relevant or appropriate to you. What is holding you back or keeping your spirit down?

WED AUG 10

The Moon in Capricorn conjoins Pluto, opposes Venus in Cancer, is sextile Neptune, and trines Mars in Taurus. There can be things going on under the surface we feel strongly about, and perhaps frustrated or blocked around for the time being. There can be a certain dreaminess or longing here, and it can also be that pleasure is available in humble places, doing humble things, if one is receptive to it. Mars in Taurus is patient, plodding and persistent. This math is about getting out of ruts. The Moon enters liberating Aquarius at 11:45 AM PST, where it will sextile Jupiter Rx in Aries, and set up a Grand Cross configuration at tomorrows Full Moon. The lunar/Jupiter sextile can set off an optimistic feeling. The Sun squaring Uranus reaches exact at 18 degrees, suggesting a growing courage to push past certain boundaries, embody more courage, and step out of certain comfort zones by taking some calculated risks that have perhaps been long thought about. In the very least, these configurations can see a desire to innovate around blockages or take action to incorporate more dynamism, vitality and joy into life. Venus at the most urgent degree of Cancer before the Full Moon can emphasize a need to be authentic, and can also create a desire for more pleasure, beauty and luxury.

THURS AUG 11

Venus enters zero degrees Leo at 11:30 AM PST. This decan of Venus in Leo is the thirst trap decan. It can attract many people and things, but if deployed unconsciously, very few of the people or things it brings into orbit are actually desired or appropriate. With Venus still opposite Pluto for the time being, it’s important to pay particular attention to what you authentically want, and to vibrate and manifest accordingly, as the powers of attraction of this face of Leo in Venus are quite potent, and a confused, scattered, or incongruent vibration will bring confused, scattered, incongruent results. The Full Moon in Aquarius is exact at 6:36 PM PST, and sets up a Grand Cross configuration. This Full Moon at 19 degrees Aquarius opposes the Sun in 19 degrees Leo. This highlights a dichotomy between strong desires that we may be trying to detach from due to a lack of fulfillment or a sense of alienation and emotional coldness. It’s been an attempt to bring neutrality and objectivity to certain desires. Perhaps, the alchemy of these configurations speaks to the very thing in the way of fulfillment: An outworn identity construct. An outworn idea of how one is ‘supposed to be’, or what fulfillment is ‘supposed to look like’. In other words, ego hang ups that contribute to a lack of courage and stagnation. This lunation is conjunct Saturn, which can see certain limitations, inhibitions, shyness, or the weight of responsibilities more keenly felt or perceived, but it can also see the opportunity to get more serious in the coming weeks and months around matters concerning the house axis this lunation occurs in, which can see rewards for our efforts down the line. With Venus having moved into the first face of Leo, and the Sun squaring both Mars and Uranus, (though Uranus more exactly), it’s possible for more courage and bravery to become available that can spur on a sort of liberation process that can help clear the path of obstacles, both internal and external. This Full Moon can also see a certain higher ground of clarity being reached, and from this, we can carve out a new era based on a more realistic premise.

FRI AUG 12

Early morning see’s the Moon in the late degrees of Aquarius, conjunct Saturn and square Mars. This can see an awkward combination between being impatient, and perhaps feeling a bit cut off from others, while at the same time, too shy or inhibited to do anything about it. However, there might also be some surprises. The Sun is also opposite Saturn, which can feel held back, while the square to Uranus overcompensates and is keen to go it’s own way. It's a vibe of breaking free from restrictions. The Sun trine Chiron however, is keen to rise above these sorts of weird conundrums and dichotomies. The Moon enters sensitive and dreamy Pisces at 11:44 AM PST, where it goes on to oppose Mercury. This influence isn’t super strong today or this evening, but tomorrow can see some anxiousness or indecisiveness around communications or commerce. There can be some thinking around how to approach something or get something off our backs (or chests.) The rest of today and this evening can be reflective, and Venus in Leo building a trine to Jupiter can see a focus on pleasure, love, art, fun and entertainment.

SAT AUG 13

Today see’s the Moon in Pisces opposite Mercury in Virgo and semisqaure Pluto. This can see certain feelings heightened, but it can be hard to choke the words out or express what we might like to say. There can be indecision around whether or not to even bother trying, and a certain preoccupation with particular details or vague worries or hopes. The Moon goes on to sextile Uranus and conjunct Neptune, which can help out with some telepathic links or less direct means of “subtle hints or innuendo” in the atmosphere, seeing as how these configurations seem to make more direct forms of communication more awkward or intimidating, or riddled with the possibility of being misunderstood. It may be that there's just a lot going on, and energy can be sluggish or restful. There can also be some relief as well, perhaps shaking free of something that's been lowering morale or has been a burden on our backs, hearts, time, or psyche. These maths are sensitive to stimuli, seeking out inspiration, and are perhaps a bit anxious. It can be harder to think clearly as these configurations can be distracted by fantasy and a weird world of what if’s and other mysterious preoccupations. There can be some interesting insights and some lovely boons to creativity. The wee hours can see some really creative fantasizing, and perhaps a feeling of release. Tomorrow might see a bit more internal resolve or emotional courage, optimism and generosity. There can be a feeling of "putting something behind you" that can open up horizons a bit more, which can be a good feeling.

SUN AUG 14

Today see’s the Moon in late Pisces conjunct Neptune, sextile Mars in Taurus, Pluto in Capricorn, and building a conjunction to Jupiter Rx and a trine to Venus in Leo as the day progresses. This can see a building up of emotional resolve around something. The Moon enters brave Aries in the afternoon PST, getting closer to Jupiter and holding hands with Venus, which can see more courage, faith and optimism building, like horizons are somehow wider and things are more expansive somehow. Although, the Sun/Saturn opposition can see a need to work through some issues of confidence or some other fears, blockages or inhibitions, or to simply get more realistic around our approach to something, trends are nevertheless encouraging, as restrictive influences are lessening. The day can be overall very pleasant, regardless of what people are doing, it can be easier to simply just enjoy it. There might even be some unexpected but pleasant detours, or in the very least, a feeling that something fresh and exciting could be around the corner, or certain blockages are finally lifting and getting swept out of the way, especially as Mars ends it’s square to Saturn tomorrow, and next week enters into a new terrain which will open up new channels to pursue that can be very beneficial, exciting, and expansive.

ASTROLOGY FOR THE WEEK OF AUG 1-7 2022

MON AUG 1

We begin the week with the Moon in Virgo trine Mars, Uranus, the North Node, and Pluto, and opposite Neptune, while the Mars/Uranus/North Node conjunction continues to be exact. There is a motivation here to clear the decks that can feel liberating. This once in a lifetime conjunction is about clearing away the deadwood and whatever is stale or dysfunctional in your life to make way for some next level ascensions. Above all, this math is cleansing, and this conjunction peaking at this moment can bring in some pretty random surprises, epiphanies, or highly unusual occurrences, like a bolt out of the blue. It’s weird and miraculus. It’s a strange and beautiful life. Mars in Taurus will continue to increase in tension with both Saturn and Mercury as the week wears on, so there can be a feeling of “crunch time”, as space is cleared to make way for incoming changes. If you feel like you’re in between worlds right now, it’s par for the course.  There can be some nervous energy, but also excitement. There’s a need here to focus, minimize distractions, and stay on track, and perhaps pair things down to a manageable level to ensure a sustainable rhythm going forward, as there can be considerable momentum to everything right now, with a lot to adapt to very quickly, which can keep people on their toes. The Moon enters partnership oriented Libra at 9:06 PM PST, placing the focus on harmonizing with others and finding some balance amidst considerable change, opportunity, and adaptation.

TUES AUG 2

The Moon in conciliatory Libra opposes Jupiter and Chiron Rx in Aries while sextile the Sun in Leo. This can see a lot of enthusiasm, perhaps a bit more courage around overcoming obstacles or inhibitions. There is a strong focus here on partnerships, both business and personal, and the atmosphere can be both charmed and charming. Venus and Uranus can see a desire to take calculated risks or ring in some refreshing changes. There can also be some interesting opportunities on offer that can be very beneficial and exciting. The Moon trine Pallas suggests being adaptable or open to new discussions or new ways of doing things is the best strategy for now. Venus is at an exact sextile to Mars today, (19 degrees). This can see a lot of passion and curiosity, a need to be adaptable, and a strong desire to uncover untapped or buried potentials. Whatever is motivating people right now is fiercely protected and coveted, and there can be a desire to gather or exchange knowledge and information. The passions are strong and perhaps even deeply submerged, but there is a power and momentum here that can begin to more comfortably express itself or find it’s feet. Venus will strengthen it’s opposition to Pluto as the week wears on as well, seeing certain transformations coming full circle, and reach more decisive turning points socially, interpersonally, financially, or creatively. With Mars square Saturn, there’s tension that seeks release and distillation, and this may drive a lot of productivity via the areas these planets are transiting through your chart. A lunar semisquare to Mercury can highlight a lot of communications, questions, requests, or negotiations to process.

WED AUG 3

The Moon in Libra squares Venus and Pluto, is trine Saturn, and opposite Chiron today. Mars and Venus are at an exact sextile of 20 degrees. This can see some subtle but intense undercurrents, and the day can be very productive. Certain bridges can be stabilizing, or on their way to being so. This can see a lot of determination, and there may even be some low key power dynamics or very sensitive feels to step around or navigate. The Sun trine Jupiter Rx is confident, adventurous and magnetic, and there may be plenty of opportunities to explore, some of which have been on the back burner for quite some time. This retrograde period can see a time of consolidation, and come late October, when it reenters Pisces, a healing release of certain burdens can transpire, making way for more definitive forward expansion. For now, this is an explorative, and experimental process of consolidating whatever is at your disposal, and seeing which opportunities are worth the while. Today’s math see’s an internal resilience and commitment. A lunar quincunx to Neptune can see a lot of sensitivity, and with this comes the caution to avoid martyrdom and to honor your own needs and desires. Don’t be motivated by guilt and don’t be afraid to say the word “no” if you need to. Mercury enters detail oriented Virgo at 11:58 PM PST. Late night and into the wee hours of tomorrow, and really, the whole of this Mercury cycle, can see good opportunities for communication, research, information gathering, planning, and clearing things up.

THURS AUG 4

The Moon enters deep and investigative Scorpio at 4:47 AM PST. Mercury, now freshly in Virgo, can strengthen a desire to get certain things sorted, get to the bottom of certain quandaries, or prepare ground. The Moon squares the Sun in brave Leo, while quincunx Jupiter, and sesquisquare Neptune, which can see a great deal of curiosity around certain matters which have felt vexing, ill-defined, unresolved, or left hanging. With the Mars and Venus sextile now perfected at 22 degrees, and Mercury now in Virgo, there’s a certain element of caution and even some anxiety here, in spite of a strong sense of mission and even destiny. There can be a humbling impetus here not to raise expectations too high lest we be disappointed. Late evening and on into the wee hours can see a growing restlessness as the Moon opposes Uranus. With the North Node and Uranus still exact at 18 degrees, fate and destiny are at work.

FRI AUG 5

The Moon makes a sensitive and intuitive trine to Venus in Cancer and Neptune in Pisces, while opposite Uranus and Mars, and square Saturn. This math, although sensitive, is oddly ambitious, driven, and thorough, and there’s a desire here to ascend to new levels. It can also see some surprising situations socially or interpersonally. There can be a lot of spice to these configurations, and the lunar square to Saturn can see a need for resilience as there may be a lot going on, or a need to “show up” somehow. Maybe there are new and dynamic situations unfolding that require a lot of innovation or simply take people out of their comfort zones, but perhaps in a pleasantly surprising way. There can be some interesting interpersonal shifts going on with the Moon trine Juno, and this can see opportunities to explore certain things more deeply or illuminate some mysteries.

SAT AUG 6

The Moon enters adventurous and explorative Sagittarius at 9:39 AM PST, where it forms a trine to Jupiter Rx in Aries, and the Sun in playful Leo, seeing a growing enthusiasm, optimism and open mindedness take hold this weekend. Mars and Saturn are at a perfected square of 22 degrees. There is a steamroller of passionate energy here, and a sense of destiny and mission drives this degree of Taurus. There may be a need for some self control, as the passions can even feel a bit excessive or overwhelming under these configurations. Venus in sensitive trine to  Neptune and opposite Pluto melts into authenticity. The Moon squares Mercury in Virgo, seeing some nervous energy and a sort of anxious, cautious, fidgety and somewhat skeptical vibe in the face of so much enthusiasm, optimism, and expansiveness. This math looks like it’s asking the question “Is this really happening”? Some kind of action or impetus can be in the works that can see some positive trends that can really boost morale.

SUN AUG 7

The Moon in Sagittarius is trine the Sun in Leo, Chiron in Aries, and sextile Saturn in Aquarius, while square Neptune and Juno in Pisces. Mars and Saturn are at a perfected square of 22 degrees, and Mars makes powerful aspects to to Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. This see’s some potent and perhaps encouraging shifts in the works, but at the same time, things and people can also be very unpredictable. There's an elusive quality to these maths that can see some longing after what or who is intangible. The more comfortable you are with allowing others the freedom to be exactly who they are, the more comfortable these transits will be. Whatever is occurring now is divinely guided, and situations or circumstances can be highly unusual in certain respects, but there can still be encouraging trends. The lunar sextile to Saturn supports the formation of alliances or situations that encourage freedom, personal growth, learning, self development, individuation and wholeness. Todays configurations suggest seeking the sweet spot between boundless expansion and optimism v.s sense and sensibility, in order to cultivate a joy that has substance and meaning behind it, and isn’t just chasing it’s own tail, or throwing money, time or energy into a void. There can be a subtle impetus that something significant is at play that can inspire handling certain situations or dynamics with a certain level of sacredness, consideration, attention to detail, karma, and the laws of cause and effect. Striking a balance between realism, practicality, and excitement or expansiveness is key.
