Astrology For The Week Of May 27th-June 2

We begin the week with the Moon in emotional Pisces conjunct Neptune, square Mercury in Gemini, and Jupiter in Sagittarius.  There is also a lunar sextile to powerful Pluto in Capricorn. We could be processing a lot of confusing, intense emotions, endings, transformations, or issues around power dynamics, and feeling a bit “on edge.”  It’s clear that certain things have to change, but how, and “where to from here” may feel rather confounding, and we may waver “back and forth” about what direction to take. It could be that communications feel stalled or blocked due to a lack of clarity around sensitive issues. A lunar sextile to Saturn however, can also indicate that someone is feeling very “resolute” about where they stand.

In either case, it’s a rather emotionally charged, even vulnerable atmosphere, with Mars still in Cancer square Chiron. Protecting ones own interests continues to be a strong, driving force.

Tuesday, May 28th, see’s the Moon venture into forthright Aries around noon PST, conjunct Chiron, further activating the Mars/Chiron square. This could poke and prod at wounds around security, emotions, self preservation, the past, and (perhaps outworn) emotional patterns. The Moon goes on to square Mars, intensifying these feelings in a rather confrontational (if rather uncomfortable) way, and a certain “combative” element of self preservation,“survivalism”, and “protecting what’s ours” can reign.  Needless to say, this isn’t the most comfortable feeling configuration. Our need for comfort and security may feel pitted against our need for self preservation, and there could be a certain amount of defensiveness, and our “defense mechanisms” could be somewhat running the show.

Although Mercury is at home in the air sign of Gemini, logic could still be hard to come by with an irrational Mercury square to Neptune. In the very least, we may be required to sift fact from fiction, and through a variety of nebulous emotions and sensitive impressions.

MIDWEEK

Wednesday May 29th, continues these rather sensitive, self preserving themes. Communication can feel “muddled”, with much going on under the surface, we may have to intuit much of what is either being left unsaid, or information that is coming in to be assimilated. Security and self preservation continues to be a dominating theme.

Later Wed afternoon, the Moon in Aries, trine to Jupiter in Sagittarius, and still squaring Mars, also squares stern, cold Saturn. Emotions could certainly be inflated, and “looking out for ourselves” can see us and others taking some rather entrenched positions. This is an odd combination with Venus in Taurus, forming a trine to Saturn and Pluto, and a sextile to empathic Neptune, suggesting that underneath this defensive posturing, there is an underlying wish for cooperation, harmony, longevity, -along with deep transformation. But everything else going on suggests that there may be some rather headstrong opinions, beliefs, standpoints, and self protective barriers that could be interfering with the spirit of harmony and cooperation.  Someone or something, refuses to budge.

Later on Wed afternoon, the Moon in Aries forms a sextile to Mercury in curious Gemini, opening lines of communication, and setting us on an “information gathering” phase, where we perhaps seek to strengthen our positions somehow. As Wed evening dawns, we may be considering other viewpoints or seeking to become a bit more open minded, and less defensive, as the Moon/Mars square begins to ebb off. Either that, or we feel we have pushed things as far as they can go, made our point, and can somewhat relax our stance a bit. There is still underlying power and control dynamics present  that could feel somewhat intense to navigate, but we may be seeking distractions and ways in which to lighten things up in the face of some deep, underlying changes and transformations taking place, with very longterm, perhaps permanent implications.

Thursday, May 30th, continues this theme of navigating heavy underlying power dynamics and transformations. It’s a rather “heavy handed” atmosphere, but the Moon/Jupiter trine strives to keep our morale boosted, and our optimism intact. There could be a “sense of adventure”, or of “pioneering into new territory”, where we seek moral high ground, and to keep our heads above water.

As the Moon ventures into the later degrees of Aries, a conjunction to rebellious, unstable, and “weird” Uranus begins to grow. We may begin to sense a growing feeling of restlessness, independence, and desire for “liberation”, or a desire to “shake things up.” A feeling of excitement, optimism, (and perhaps emotional instability) can begin to take hold. We may be seeking to escape intense, heavy situations, and weighty, loaded dynamics, and find our sense of enjoyment and pleasure again.

THE WEEKEND

Friday, May 31st, the Moon enters slow and sensual Taurus, leading into a weekend focused on injecting new joy and life and a sense of “experimentation” into circumstances that have felt stale, heavy, power tripping, or somehow otherwise uncomfortably “loaded” and overly serious.

A lunar conjunction to Uranus and Venus, and a sextile to Mars in Cancer suggests a rather “innovative” approach to creating a sense of security for ourselves in relationships or in regards to finances or self worth. The old ways we have relied upon to feel “secure” may be failing us, and it may be time to experiment with new approaches to outworn emotional responses, patterns, and ways of creating safety and security for ourselves. This may see many of us venturing outside of our comfort zones. Even if “just a little.” (Perhaps even a whole lot.)

This could even be rather pleasant, although with Mars still square Chiron, we may be still feeling pangs of somewhat excruciating vulnerability as we leave behind certain outworn patterns and venture into new and exciting territory. Whatever is transpiring is most certainly injecting our lives (and libidos) with fresh excitement.

Saturday, June 1st, see’s positive contacts between the Moon, Venus, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto, while Venus makes the same positive contacts. Something (or someone) seems to have changed for the better. It’s as if a doll house has been shaken and dumped out, and reassembled into a more pleasing arrangement. There is something positive and stabilizing about these configurations, and perhaps, our hopes around something have been infused with new energy.  With the Mars/Chiron square now behind us, we could begin to feel safer and more secure about something, and begin to put a battle for self preservation behind us, and lower our guard. This looks like a happy ending, and a happy beginning. Something or someone is transformed, and it looks and feels deeply reassuring, even if there are different cognitive/communication styles and approaches, 9or even language barriers), due to the Mercury/Jupiter opposition.

Sunday, June 2, see’s the Moon in mercurial Gemini, placing an emphasis on communication, (and perhaps information overload.) There can be a lot to process amidst all of the changes and “musical chairs” happening.  A lunar sextile to Chiron suggests the potential for healing communications, as the wounds around security that were prodded and poked at via the Mars/Chiron square are assessed so that a healing salve can eventually be applied. This will take emotional labor, and Sunday may see us “assessing the damages,” and processing a way forward, and what would be the safest route. There are many unknowns, and certain things (and people) may still seem unclear, nebulous, or in some cases, downright deceptive or in denial about certain things.

Thanks for stopping by! May you all have a most excellent week! See you next Monday.

Astrology For The Week Of May 20th-26th 2019.

After an intense Full Moon in Scorpio, we begin the week with the Moon in Sagittarius, conjunct benefic Jupiter, while also squaring Neptune in delirious Pisces, along with some minor tense aspects to Venus and Uranus. Both of which are still tightly conjunct in Taurus…. We could all be doing our best to summon optimism, humor, hope and faith in the midst of some pretty radical changes, shocks, and highly destabilizing financial, social, and/or interpersonal situations.  Coming to terms with certain truths that have come to light.

Mars in Cancer Squaring Chiron makes us highly sensitive to issues around security, safety, comfort, emotions, continuity, and the past, while also making us very assertive about protecting “what’s ours" our interests, and "our turf." This could create a rather vulnerable “every man for himself” type of atmosphere, where it feels as if everyone around us is focused solely on self preservation and looking out for their own best interests, and in “self protection” mode.
With Mars in Cancer, we are more driven by purely emotional considerations at this time, and it can feel rather “dog eat dog”, with defenses activated and a self protective, “clannish”, and self interested mode can prevail with the sqaure to Chiron in Aries.

"NOBODY IS GOING TO FUCK WITH ME."

Rationality is difficult to come by at the moment, and we can be doing our best to make peace with some intense emotions and transformations happening in our lives and adapt to a “new normal.”

Monday the 20th can find us having difficulty concentrating, and see us in an indulgent frame. With the emphasis in Taurus, sensual pleasures and creature comforts can appeal as a way to escape intense, overwhelming, or uncomfortable feelings or situations. The Moon/Jupiter conjunction inflates feelings to perhaps cartoonish and unrealistic degrees, but also assists in trying to see the silver linings and maintain a positive attitude and outlook in otherwise challenging or destabilizing situations that don’t have any guarantee’s of security, comfort, or safety.  This can see us contemplating branching out into new territory, where there are a lot of unknowns. It’s important, however,  to remain realistic.

Later on, Monday evening, as the Moon inches into the final degrees of Sagittarius, it forms an opposition with Mars in Cancer that will roll into Tuesday. This might be potentially kind of uncomfortable. The Moon and Mars are also both squaring Chiron in Aries here. This could have some people feeling pretty vulnerable and raw. If you have a sense of humor, connect with it. Make people laugh. Focus on making each moment more pleasant  and less whack somehow for yourself and others. We are going to need it when the Moon enters Capricorn on Tuesday.

Tuesday, the 21st see’s the Sun and Mercury leave Taurus and enter Gemini, placing an emphasis on a whole lot of communication, downloading and processing new information, adaptation, multitasking, variety, curiosity, inquisitiveness, comings and goings, talkativeness, and nervous laughter. Welcome to Gemini Season.

The Moon enters Capricorn. Hello reality, it’s been a minute. Come in. Let’s have some tea, and try to find some semblance of stability and make the best of these rapidly fluctuating and highly destabilizing circumstances.
Fortunately, the Moon in Capricorn trines Venus and Uranus in Taurus, helping us sift through the rubble and work with what’s left of a completely transformed, never-to-be-the-same-again scenario. By “never to be the same again”, this is actually for the better, even if some harsh facts need to be acknowledged, assimilated, and adapted to. Again, humor is going to be SO KEY. We need hilarity. We need cuteness. We need pleasantness.  Because this could be pretty rough for some people. If it isn’t rough for you, and you’re on some kind of “winning streak” with blinders on, -don’t rub it in peoples faces. Try to rub upliftment, support and encouragement in their faces instead, because the struggle is real.

When in doubt, be kind.

Tuesday evening, the Moon conjuncts Saturn, still trine Venus , and the Lunar/Mars opposition and Chiron square ebbs off. Although we could be feeling rather serious, or in some cases, pessimistic, reserved, or doubtful about certain things, we could be focused on making the best of what we’ve got, and making the best of the circumstances we find ourselves in. Making peace and creating stability within the new normal. A sextile from Mercury to Chiron can bring some information or news to light or we could receive communication, that helps sooth sore spots, wounds, ease concerns, and creates potential to build (or rebuild) bridges.  Perhaps something is revealed that we didn’t know before that helps heal past misconceptions or self protective assumptions.

Wednesday, May 22nd, the Moon in Capricorn, conjunct both Saturn and Pluto, makes some tense minor aspects (sesquisquare) to the Sun and Mercury, suggesting a bit of emotional, cognitive, and social/interpersonal dissonance.  There can be some intense feelings under the surface about whatever this is, but we may feel frustrated about expressing ourselves, or there may be facts illuminated to us that rub us the wrong way. Something could be making us uncomfortable but perhaps we feel like we can’t say anything about it because it could set someone off or open up a can of worms. There could also be an “investigative” feel to these configurations. Trying to figure something or someone out, suss out others motives, or get to the bottom of something.
Fortunately, the lunar trine to Venus, and a sextile to Neptune can assist us in maintaining some semblance of harmony, empathy, sensitivity, creating a pleasant exterior. This makes us rather conflict avoidant and passive. Nonetheless, an intensity and “dead seriousness” could simmer under the surface.

Sun/Mercury sextile to Chiron also suggest the potential for a whole lot of talking, about sensitive issues. So there could be a lot of communication happening, or in the very least, thoughts about healing something that’s been causing misunderstanding or rifts in communications. In the very least we could be thinking about ways to simply feel better and more secure with where things are at and where we stand in relation to others.

The rest of Wed could see us serious, determined, practical, and goal oriented.

Thursday the 23rd, see’s the Moon in late Capricorn form trines to the Sun and Mercury in Gemini, while squaring Uranus in Taurus. On the one hand, we could receive some news that perks up our spirits, on the other, we could also be dealing with stubborn, erratic behavior in ourselves or others. Things may not be going down exactly as expected, but there is some kind of silver lining. We may be embracing more independence, or be forced into doing so, but there could be many perks to being pulled out of our comfort zones, how we’ve always done things, who we’ve always talked to, or how we’ve always dealt with things. It could be uncomfortable, but could also be a refreshing, and necessary (if shocking)- change.
Chiron in Aries forms sextiles to the Moon, Sun, and Mercury, suggesting something healing about information coming in and communications happening. There is a lot of variety, learning, and mental stimulation going on, and much to assimilate, that is ultimately beneficial and healing, even if it’s painful, scary, or uncomfortable.

The moon enters detached and independent Aquarius around 11ish AM PST, forming a tense square to Venus in physical, and stubborn Taurus as Wed progresses. There is certainly an air of rebelliousness, independence, wild cards, and erratic instability within personal relationships or practical situations. This may see many choosing to fly solo, or embracing a more unconventional or “experimental” approach to relationships and/or earning income. “Personal Revolutions”.  In either case, it could all feel pretty weird and all over the place, but certainly not boring. Sometimes you have to figure out “what you don’t want” in order to know what the actual f%*ck you want. There could be a whole world of new information and stimulus to take in and explore.

THE WEEKEND.

Friday the 24th see’s this quirky, rebellious, independent, detached, “weird” streak continue. With Saturn forming a minor tense aspect to the Sun in Gemini, certain information may be bumming us out, or certain communications feel off limits or inhibited, but the show must go on. There could be issues or tensions around independence in relationships, or a cool, detached, aloof feeling around them, a preference to keep others more at a distance and perhaps find safety in numbers, (or just fly solo), but a lot of communication and mental stimulation.

Saturday the 25th, the Moon in detached Aquarius forms a sesquisquare to Mars, and a sextile to Jupiter. We could be doing our best to remain emotionally unfettered or unflustered by any sensitive issues or difficult emotions we’re navigating. With the Moon in Aquarius, too much emotion, and the nature of certain emotions, could make us decidedly uncomfortable, so we could be trying to gain perspective and broaden our horizons.

Late Saturday evening, around 11 PM, emotions could be harder to avoid as the Moon enters sensitive Pisces, to square the Sun in Gemini and trine Mars in Cancer. With the Lunar/Mars trine, we could be more able to face certain feelings head on. A stabilizing trine between Venus and Saturn may help facilitate a “recovery plan” around  any situations that have been shocking or destabilizing. This can also bring more stability to relationships and finances.

Sunday the 26th see’s the Moon in sensitive Pisces, still trine to Mars, but also square Mercury, sextile Uranus, and conjunct Neptune. This could see some tensions around communications, or a lack of decisiveness. Our thoughts and feelings could be at odds somehow. Cognitive dissonance. We could be displaying emotional courage around rising to certain challenges that perhaps make us feel pretty vulnerable.  There could be a need to process certain endings or extend our compassion to others who are going through a difficult time.  In spite of any dissonance, there is a great deal of empathy available. It’s also possible that ourselves or others are in denial about certain facts. Either way, emotionally, we may be in improvisational mode, and having to “innovate”, or be inventive in our quest for solutions to any cognitive or communication blockages, or misunderstandings.

Late Sunday evening, the Moon in Pisces forms a lovely sextile to Venus in Taurus, pointing us towards acts of self/and or other soothing.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone has an awesome week. See you next Monday.

Astrology For The Week Of May 13th-19th 2019

Monday kicks off with the Moon in practical Virgo, in positive relationship to the Sun, Mercury, Saturn and Pluto, and in direct opposition to Neptune. This places an emphasis on “getting shit done”, improving routines, and is a really all together stabilizing influence. Although the lunar opposition to Neptune can create a bit of absent mindedness, forgetfulness, or spaciness. A Mars square to Chiron can kind of make us prone towards being a bit of a nervous wreck, scattered, irritated or just hypersensitive to routines or communications going astray.

Late evening as we close out Monday, the Moon makes a square to Mars in Gemini, suggesting a burst of productive, communicative, multitasking, improvement focused energy, ..rather late at night. This could see some of us up organizing our sock drawers or doing some frenzied last minute cleaning/organization, or for others, it could take on a more communicative slant. Coupled by a lunar square to Jupiter, we could have some rather big ideas, or impassioned impulses that rev our engines for the ensuing week ahead.  This aspect could also be conflict prone, so forewarned is forearmed.

Tuesday morning, the 14th, carries this rather energetic, productive, busy tone in the early hours. Some pretty major transitions are happening, and there is a “busy body” atmosphere to these configurations, with a lot of nervous energy.
The Moon enters  Libra on Tuesday, near noon, PST, placing the focus more on partnerships and collaborations with others. As this places the Moon in direct opposition to Chiron initially, there could be some sensitivity or vulnerability to navigate, but it’s nothing the Libra Moon can’t harmonize.

MIDWEEK

Wednesday the 15th, is rather eventful, as the wee hours of the morning (2:46 AM PST), Venus leaves impulsive and passionate Aries for one of her signs of rulership, Taurus. This transit will place an emphasis on the physical, tangible, and sensual elements of partnerships and practical matters. A close contact to Uranus suggests changing things up in regards to all Venus ruled endeavors, whether this be adding more excitement or breathing room to relationships, adjusting to new financial or practical conditions, or even just spicing up the wardrobe and manner of dress. Either way, Taurus is results oriented, and there is no doubt we will be able to see, touch, and experience the changes brought about by this transit. There will also be much to communicate and think about while all of this “newness” is integrated into reality. We are creating a “new normal.” This transit also places Venus in harmonious relationship with Saturn and Pluto, suggesting that these changes are for the positive and will deeply transform the landscape and perhaps offer more stability and consistency in the future.

Later on Wed evening, Mars follows suit with an ingress out of nervous and chatty Gemini, into emotional and security oriented Cancer. Since Monday, Mars in the final degrees of Gemini has been in square to Chiron, suggesting tensions, blockages, sensitivities, or simply ill timing around communications and general itinerary. This square is set to last until the end of May, and take on a bit more of an emotional tone as it swaps it’s square to Chiron with an opposition to Saturn and Pluto in June. We’ll deal with that later…

We begin Thursday the 16th with the Moon in late Libra making intense square face to Saturn and Pluto, while in trine to Mars. This creates a rather “confrontational” and “assertive” vibe, perhaps a bit emotionally charged, leading up to the full Moon.

The Moon enters moody and broody Scorpio at 2:26 PM PST. With a lunar opposition to Venus and Uranus in Taurus, there could be a restlessness and intensity around relationships, made all the more passionate and deeply felt by the lunar trine to Mars in Cancer. It’s an odd combination of a deep need for security and intimacy, and a need for excitement or independence. There is an odd “quirkiness” and emotionality to these configurations, all leading up to the Full Moon over the weekend.

THE WEEKEND/FULL MOON IN SCORPIO.

Friday morning, the 17th, the Moon applies a soothing and spacey balm in the form of a trine to Neptune in Pisces. In the afternoon, the Moon in Scorpio opposes Mercury in Taurus, suggesting the potential for some difficulty around making decisions, or around communications.

Friday evening the Moon forms a stabilizing sextile to Saturn, suggesting that in spite of the rather intense build up to the full moon, there is a stable port in the storm.

Saturday the 18th see’s the moon in Scorpio sextile Pluto, bringing some kind of marked transformation to completion before the lunar climax. This could highlight some intense emotions, though not necessarily in a negative way. The Moon climaxes full in Scorpio at 2:11 PM PST, at 27 degrees Scorpio. A trine to Chiron slowly intensifies as the moon inches closer to Sagittarius, which it will reach by 6:21 PM PST. This lunar climax is highlighted of course by the opposition to the Sun in Taurus, but also an opposition to Mercury. We may be adapting to so many changes that making decisions about what to even do with ourselves this weekend can feel rather difficult to do. Personally, as an astrologer, at full moons, I try to simply lay as low as possible and not make a whole lot of demands of myself or others because it’s typical for emotions to be rather magnified at this time and people can tend to be at their least rational.

Late Saturday evening, the Moon/Mercury opposition ebbs off, as the moon is in Sagittarius by this point, set to make contact with Jupiter.

Sunday the 19th is highlighted by the Moon in Sagittarius trining Chiron for most of the day, and squaring Neptune in Pisces, along with conjoining Jupiter in Sagittarius. This ends the week on an optimistic, dreamy, expansive and hopeful note.

Thanks for stopping by! May you all have a most excellent week. See you next Monday.

Astrology For The Week Of May 6th-12th 2019

We begin this week with the Moon in Gemini, getting closer to Mars. A lot of busy activity, multitasking, communications, comings and goings are happening as we kick off the week. Some major changes and deep transformations are happening as Mercury hangs on the final degrees of Aries, set to perfect it’s conjunction to Uranus in Taurus when it shifts into this earthy and practical sign on Monday at 11:25 AM PST. This sets the stage for a lot of changes on a practical level.

Venus still in tension to Saturn and Pluto, while engaging in an easy trine to generous Jupiter can create intense desire or even compulsion for pleasure and indulgence, while simultaneously not letting us quite give in or get carried away, due to responsibilities, or financial constrictions or delays regarding money, pleasure, indulgence and partnerships. Come the weekend, we may be able to finally let our hair down, as Venus slowly moves out of tension with taskmaster Saturn by Saturday the 11th.

Tuesday see’s the perfection of the Moon/Mars conjunction in Gemini. This see’s the week get off to a hyper stimulating, busy, multitasking start. A lunar sextile to Venus in fiery Aries brings passion, enthusiasm, and pleasantness to the fore. Although many of the changes transpiring now can overtax the nerves with the Moon opposite larger than life Jupiter, it’s difficult to be upset about it when the direction things seem to be heading in seems so positive, exciting, and expansive. We could feel mildly hungover, as if our heads are spinning from all of the stimulation, changes, movement, and opportunities to make life more stimulating and exciting. There could definitely be a lot of movement, short distance travels, communications, and much to adapt to, but the trends seem to be pointing to things settling into a new and more optimized “groove.”

MIDWEEK

Wed see’s the Moon at home in sensitive Cancer. We could hear some surprising news or receive some communications that potentially stoke a sensitive area, or arouse vulnerability, or perhaps it simply involves something we have longings, fantasies, strong feelings, or ideals around, or something we’ve been waiting for.

Thursday see’s the Moon in Cancer oppose Saturn, Pluto in Capricorn, and square Venus in Aries. Perhaps there is some impatience and some obstacles to navigate amidst all of the changes that are transpiring. A Lunar trine to Neptune can provide much empathy, while a stabilizing sextile the Moon makes to the Sun in Taurus helps with emotional fortitude through any adjustments that we’ve been undergoing. So in spite of any potential temporary frustrations, an attitude of gratitude, and focusing on the positive in situations will do much to mitigate any passing tension.

THE WEEKEND.

Friday the 10th see’s the Moon in exuberant Leo. This set’s the stage for a weekend filled with excitement, enthusiasm, and a whole lot going on. It could be slightly destabilizing, with a Lunar square to both Mercury and Uranus in Taurus. A trine the Moon forms to Chiron in Aries though suggests opportunities to bring healing to situations. It may take us a bit to find our feet amidst the “new normal”, but the trends look promising.

Saturday the 11th, Venus ends her tense square to Saturn, and it appears that there is something worth celebrating. If you could pick a day this week to party, Saturday looks prime. The Moon in Leo trines both Venus in Aries and Jupiter in Sagittarius, and Mars in Jupiter are both in positive relation to indulgent Venus. This is certainly a day marked for pleasure and enjoyment, and has “treat yoself” written all over it.

Sunday looks even better, as the Moon links up nicely with Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus. It is an energy that is simultaneously fresh, exciting, and stabilizing. Enjoy this weekend, it seems to be intended for that.

Thanks for stopping by! May you all have a most excellent week, and I’ll see you all on Monday.
