Astrology For The Week Of Feb 24-March 1 2020

MONDAY.
Monday begins on the heels of the New Moon in Pisces, with the Moon still conjunct Neptune and sextile Jupiter. With Mercury retrograde conjunct the Sun in Pisces, certain things are in a process of illumination and light is shone on that which needs to be released over to the fates, transformed, or reformed. It’s that Serenity Prayer steeze. “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. The stellium in Capricorn is really something to be grateful for in many ways, because having a firm set of goals in mind for ourselves right now can help keep us focused on whatever we personally have control over and keep us level headed amidst some otherwise very irrational configurations, and not to mention, the potential for the proclivity towards certain “savior/victim” dynamics to get out of control. There is a strong calling for everybody to get down to business and “do the work,” whatever that means personally for you. There’s also a lot of compassion in the air to soften the planets that are straight up THUGGIN’ in Capricorn. Because they are thuggin AF, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t compassion, unconditional love, and humanity under the surface. So this week will see a strange balancing act between hard and soft. Being soft enough to show love, compassion, mercy, and forgiveness in the right doses, but hard enough to protect yourself from being stabbed in the spine or taken for a ride that leads nowhere. As we begin the week, hopes and fears can be somewhat inflated, and later in the afternoon today the Moon sextile Pluto which may have us somewhat obsessing on unknowns or drifting off into intense fantasies or deep reflections. Some people may be perhaps being hit rather deeply by loss, longing, nostalgia, memories, or otherwise intense feelings of being “at sea”, while others are undergoing some profound spiritual transformations, revelations, and deep psychological growth and renewal. Mercury sextile Mars today can see the mind racing and perhaps driven towards some kind of escapism and distraction, ironically, it appears it’s an effort to actually stay grounded, maybe due to some exaggerated emotions or a sense of feeling out of control of something, or some other type of intense emotional situation or process that could be taking up psychic space or attempting to drive us to distraction. It might be wise to start the week off on a gentle note, be kind to yourself, and this week, try to reduce your expectations in general for the time being, to avoid disappointments. Staying focused on small, daily steps towards progress, positive reform, and transformation will lead to positive breakthroughs. Slow and steady progress that’s real, is much better than flash in the pan, seemingly glittery *instant results* that only wind up turning into a pumpkin at midnight. Venus tells a story this week of going from over optimism to realism and striking a balance to instigate deep reforms, particularly in regards to interpersonal dynamics, money, pleasure, self esteem, pursuit of happiness, and all things Venus ruled.

TUESDAY FEB 25.
This morning begins with the Moon in late Pisces sextile Saturn in Capricorn, and moves into Aries around 11 AM PST to square Mars in Capricorn and conjunct Chiron. Venus, who has been squared up to Jupiter which highlighted the desire to improve circumstances and increase happiness, has begun to square up to Pluto, and a square to realistic Saturn will follow. Also today, Mercury retrograde sextiles Uranus in Taurus. Needless to say, overoptimism is exchanged for stark realism, and rational, enlightened, illuminated detachment is brought wherever there has been clouded over emotionalism. These configurations also suggest a lot of innovation around considerable hurdles, obstacles, or blockages to forward momentum and progress. With both Mars in Capricorn and Mercury in Pisces in positive aspect to Uranus, “The Awakener,” it’s clear that an enlightened perspective, rational detachment, and applied realism is called for, particularly when it comes to dealing with any repetitive patterns or situations that no longer serve anyone. These configurations clearly illustrate breaking out of psychic ruts, and the results of doing so will have very real, tangible, physical results. Venus square Pluto can see the potential for some power struggles interpersonally, and this can see some intense feelings involved. This can show up in a number of ways. Jealousy, possessiveness, impatience, obsessiveness, and control issues, are but a few. With the Sun and Mercury both in sensitive Pisces, the psychology involved here could be very delicate and require some skillful handling, and striking a balance between hard and soft, and drawing clear, delineated lines between our own bullshit and other peoples bullshit, is a continual theme. This is why having clear goals and objectives for *yourself,* that don’t require involvement from anyone else, and will stabilize the growth of your own personal empire, will be so helpful under these configurations. The more clean, simple, and together our own side of the street is, the higher the likelihood of healthy, constructive, positive and fulfilling interpersonal exchanges will be in the future. So if shit gets hairy this week interpersonally, just keep on building your empire and improving your personal lot. The Moon/Chiron conjunction today focuses on the need to build courage and confidence for independent initiatives, and could highlight where we feel weak, and need to build our strength. The square to Mars can be simultaneously motivating and frustrating, but with both Mercury and the Sun in sextile to Mars, there’s plenty of inspiration and drive available to release and dissolve outworn patterns, contacts, or simply just communication styles (such as allowing someone to provoke you or getting you talking fruitlessly in circles, repeating yourself over and over as they refuse to listen to or accept what you are saying), or thought patterns that drain energy, waste time, and otherwise distract from forward progress and personal growth. The aspects to Uranus by Mercury and Mars can see bursts of insight, illumination, inspiration, along with a powerful drive to radically improve our personal circumstances. With the Full Moon in Virgo in March, this can see many people quietly preparing to kick off entirely new initiatives that positively transform their circumstances and place their lives on a very healing and growth oriented trajectory.

WEDNSDAY FEB 26.
Today can see a subtle boost in courage and confidence, and it seems odd because it’s almost as if it’s *because* of challenges. A sort of “bring it on” atmosphere. With the Moon in Aries conjunct Venus, and square Mars (through the first part of the day) and Jupiter in Capricorn, there is a pleasant passion, drive, and enthusiasm around throwing ourselves into something that stokes our ambition, get’s us excited, or has longterm potential. Normally I would say that a lunar square to Jupiter in general can make people somewhat indulgent, lazy, or apathetic. It’s possible to some extent, but Jupiter is now in disciplined Capricorn, so this could actually stimulate ambition or our desire to exert control over ourselves in the name of achieving a goal. For the most part, these are pleasure seeking influences for sure, but it’s possible now we are finding pleasure via chipping away at a goal, setting goals, improving ourselves or working hard on something we’re passionate about and that get’s us feeling motivated. In any case, it appears we’re at least *trying* to summon the motivation, courage, confidence and enthusiasm required to really get behind something 100 percent and “go all the way” with it. Mercury retrograde can still have everybody feeling somewhat sluggish or hungover, or in some cases, kind of despondent, lost, or at sea, but in spite of that, there’s a lot of sturdiness, dignity, maturity, and even some child like enthusiasm available in these maths that can keep morale boosted and give us a lot to look forward to, -even while certain other things dissolve. Later in the evening, the Moon goes on to square Pluto, which can see the potential for some interpersonal dramas or emotional intensity building, on into tomorrow. Forewarned is forearmed. This energy could be positively channeled into a creative project or some other personal goal or ambition that you’re passionate about.

THURSDAY FEB 27.
Today see’s the Moon in Aries squaring Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in Capricorn. Whoa turbo…This is some intense energy, and it looks highly exaggerated/magnified somehow as well, like some kind of breakthrough. The Moon/Venus conjunction could actually see this as a really positive change, with an emphasis on fresh starts and new beginnings, particularly interpersonally. There is a breaking away from controlling or manipulative forces or dynamics, or otherwise  just breaking away from *internal ruts* that is apparent here, and it can feel invigorating and driven. A lot of it seems fueled primarily by impatience or perhaps, impulsiveness, but mostly an "I can't fucking take it anymore." Perhaps these are long overdue, fundamental changes. Venus in Aries wants everything RIGHT NOW, which is very motivating, but the planets in Capricorn are very stern and strict in the face of any hastiness, grabbiness, brashness, arrogance, entitlement, or “act now, think later” types of behavior. Not only does the Cap stellium encourage (Read:enforce) patience, -but it also demands a certain standard of etiquette, enforces a certain code of ethics, or quality of standard, and anything  below that standard can likely be on the receiving end of being rather harshly reprimanded, or at least, it could be felt or perceived as such by the recipient. There could also just be a lot of internal pressure as well. Either way, today could see some… reality checks, for better or worse, or a need to exert focus and discipline over the drives to achieve something. This could play out in a number of ways. Perhaps some recent move interpersonally was made in haste, or on an idealistic impulse, without having all of the facts, and now certain facts are kind of hard to ignore and maybe cause a slam on to the breaks, shift in gear, or a “hey now” moment, or some kind of realization begins to dawn. We are in the middle of a Mercury retrograde after all, so I would really advise people to try to move slowly into any new beginnings, particularly around commitments that are difficult to back out of. It’s also possible that there could be considerable pressure felt interpersonally, due to one person pushing to take things farther, (and quickly, like YESTERDAY), and another person wanting to slow the whole damn thing down and make sure things are gone about *correctly*, or that it’s even in their own best interests.  Regardless, it looks like there’s the potential for impatience, impulsiveness, or differences in pace, either now, or previously. The lunar square to Saturn can feel a bit deflating, like there's delays, or like a wet blanket, and the square to Pluto can produce some intense or obsessive feelings, jealousy, fears, possessiveness, control dramas, or subtle power struggles, but there's a lot of resilience and fortitude. Or they could be intense, pleasant feelings. If you yourself are experiencing intense emotions, or you’re on the receiving end of someone else’s intense emotions, always remember that you have a choice, and do your best to respond, as opposed to merely react. Saturn, and the Cap stellium in general, could actually be somewhat helpful here, as far as slowing things down, and helping people to reign themselves in. The lunar conjunction to Venus all day can also be really helpful as far as keeping things pleasant, civil, and congenial, even if there are some interpersonal challenges or tensions due to sudden shifts. Theres definitely a focus on relationship dynamics of some kind today. Regardless, whatever occurs today can see some long overdue shifts and transformations that in spite of any tensions, look to be really beneficial and opening up completely new possibilities. Something can't be ignored any longer, and we could feel driven to make changes, but the results won't be instant, which can see confidence waver at times, or doubts creep in, but there's also a lot of courage and determination available.

THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY FEB 28.
The weekend begins on a note of rather potent feeling serendipity. Today see’s the Moon in earthy, sensual, and practical Taurus, conjunct Uranus in Taurus, sextile the Sun and Mercury Rx in Pisces, and trine Mars in Capricorn. This energy looks dope AF. With the Sun and Mercury both in Pisces, it’s possible we could feel released from something, or as if something challenging, or some challenging period, is finally on it’s way out. We could also receive some kind of good news, or reach some sort of agreement or new understanding with someone. There is a general vibe of “acceptance” even if there are still some challenges, particularly interpersonally. Today looks refreshing, revitalizing, grounding, and there’s a healthy balance between the earthy and spiritual natures. There could be a lot of inspiration to kick off new initiatives, and something shifts and clicks. Positive, edifying, exciting changes are unfolding, and it could actually be quite unexpected or maybe even rubbing our eyes in disbelief. The Cap stellium naturally wants to lean towards caution, realism, rationality, fact checking, so when things seem to go really well, something nice happens, or someone says or does something nice, the planets in Cap can become suspicious, as if to say, “hold up. Wait.. what?” These maths look really exciting, inspired, and motivating. The Sun conjunct Mercury and sextile Mars, and the Moons links to Mars and Uranus could see some revealing, or illuminating communications, new information come to light, or our curiosity and desire to stretch our comfort zones mentally, spiritually, or otherwise could be highlighted. It’s a mellow, laid back, comfy, slow unfurling type of energy that could be felt very physically, as if new life is being injected into the body. Grounding, stabilizing, but reinvigorating and motivating at the same time. Venus in Aries square to Saturn ensures slow, gradual, but dynamic changes which on the one hand, can cause delays for one reason or another interpersonally or financially, but also help to mitigate any jarring shocks to the system, as the changes unfolding at this time are actually truly dynamic, awakening, and life changing. Truly a personal “rebirth” for everyone on some level. The link between Venus and Saturn can also add a certain weight and substance to things, and see us placing higher value on any gains and strides forward we make individually, materially, as well as interpersonally. There’s a quiet dignity to this configuration that suggests that any delays, waiting, discipline, patience, or efforts involved will be well worth the while, so don’t let any hold ups or snags dampen enthusiasm or chip away at confidence levels. The Venus link to Pluto brings a lot of power behind whatever is unfolding, these are some pretty huge shifts and major growth spurts we’re all undergoing now, and with Venus in the sign that Mars traditionally rules, there’s a subtle competitive vibe present that can even feel sort of intimidating, but definitely lend some obsessive determination, resilience, and focus. It’s like a fine tuning and sharpening of confidence and courage levels. Later in the evening, the Moon throws in a trine to Jupiter in disciplined Capricorn that can be felt at the level of the body and experienced in a visceral way, and there can be a renewed optimism, faith, and determination around something. This whole mathscape has “energetic renewal” written all over it, and we can feel an intense drive to succeed -in all of the ways. It actually looks extremely motivating, so if you’ve been lacking in that, this weekend could see the beginning of a major resurgence of it, or a sort of “doubling down” on it. It could be weirdly energizing in contrast to the more mellow, passive, reflective, dissolving and retiring influences of the Sun and Mercury in Pisces. Something about this weekend could be really reaffirming in regards to any instinctual or intuitive hunches, and internal and external processes, transformations, and changes we’ve been embarking upon, and even seeds planted, -perhaps even as far back as December 2019.

SATURDAY FEB 29.
Yea wow. Today see’s the Moon in slow, sensual Taurus trine Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in Capricorn, and sextile Neptune in Pisces. With the Sun in Pisces also sextile to Mars in Capricorn, we could be feeling fiercely idealistic, passionate, and inspired around something. Things may take as long as they need to, but it looks like we’re willing to put in the work and effort to manifest some dearly held ideal into reality. I don’t want to hype this math up too much but damn, this shit looks like the concept of Abracadabra in a geometrical format. It’s powerful. Don’t underestimate the power and legitimacy of your own will, instincts, desires, and applied efforts, because these configurations are very suggestive of some major transformations and leaps forward. Making the ideal real is a key theme. As are tests of faith and strength of will. But it looks like there’s everything to play for. Releasing attachment to specific outcomes or timetables can feel easier now because any efforts towards personal transformation can be rewarding, valuable, and empowering, in and of themselves, regardless of the carrot on the end of the stick that is driving it. What matters is that you have a carrot, of any kind, to lend you passion and motivation, so whether you wind up getting whatever that carrot is, or an entirely different carrot, is irrelevant, when you consider the value of the mere existence of carrots at all. This is metaphorical jargon for “Whatever gets your noodle goin man, -the important thing is that it’s goin.” Very inspiring maths that can see us intrigued with new possibilities and approaches, and open to learning and discovering new things. The vibes this weekend don’t look too damn shabby. The only caveat I feel a need to point out would be a tendency towards impatience with the Venus/Saturn/Pluto link ups, but it also seems like we could feel somewhat at peace and relaxed about the pace of things as well, as it gives everybody a chance to adapt to shifts in circumstances or dynamics, gather momentum, and get their bearings. With a stellium in Cap, just don’t expect instant results and try to avoid exerting too much pressure on to yourself, others, or forcing the pace of anything. This is still a Mercury retrograde after all, and breakthroughs as powerful and promising, (and even completely life changing) as these appear to be, take time to fully manifest. *Perfection cannot be rushed.* Otherwise, these configurations look like a shot of much needed, renewed drive, and motivation, and some major turning points are slowly but surely unfolding.

SUNDAY MARCH 1.
This morning begins with the Moon in late Taurus through the early AM hours, and around 11:30 AM PST, the Moon shifts into talkative, busy, curious, and multitasking Gemini to square Mercury in Pisces, trine Saturn in late Capricorn, and sextile Chiron in Aries. This could see the pace quicken, but also bring mental and emotional focus on to the many loose ends we need to wrap up. The Lunar/Mercury square can create some looniness, and mental escapism, and there could still be some things we feel uncertain, ambivalent, or indecisive about, but mostly I see this energy bringing focus to a variety of “to do’s”, communications, errands, as well as emotional and information processing and reflection. Digesting everything taken in over the tail end of the week, and perhaps even much that’s transpired and been learned from our past. I know I say this a lot, but I have to say it again: It’s all a lot to take in. New revelations, impressions, and information taken in throughout the week could take a minute to settle, but it looks like we’re regaining a sense of anchoring and stability within it all. The lunar sextile to Chiron suggests communications and news received of late has boosted courage and confidence levels, and perhaps even produced some subtle healing effects.

Thanks for reading. Stay curious fam! See y’all next Monday.

Astrology For The Week Of Feb 17-23 2020.

MONDAY FEB 17.
Monday begins with the Moon in broad minded, philosophical Sagittarius, squaring Neptune and sextile Juno. As the day progresses and the Moon heads into the later degrees of the Centaur, it builds a conjunction to Mars, and a trine to Uranus. With Mercury now retrograde and conjunct Neptune, certain things can feel ill defined, uncertain, and open ended. The Moon sextile to Juno and square Neptune today suggests that this lack of definition, confusion, or uncertainty, can be felt by many people primarily interpersonally, in regards to relationships. The Moon in Sagittarius strives to maintain optimism and faith under what could otherwise feel to be some rather demoralizing or confusing circumstances that can have people feeling somewhat at sea. Conversely, the planetary line up in Capricorn tries to remain grounded in reality and practicality, and encourages us to throw our energy into endeavors that we can count on to provide realizable results in direct proportion to our efforts. The link between Mars and Uranus suggests some sort of reform is underway, and this can see a lot of leveling up for people. After the spaced out Mars/Neptune square while Mars was still in Sagittarius, we can be keen to make improvements and recapture our motivation, drive, and physical vitality. It also suggests a lot of innovation and “making things up as we go.” Many people are entering territory so new to them that they don’t know quite what to expect. With Mercury now retrograde in Pisces, it might be wise to hold off on making any important commitments, promises, or backing anyone else into a corner to do the same, as much is in flux. Emotions, mental states, and communications can be delicate, impressionable, and sensitive to subtlety. A little goes a long way, and the stellium in Capricorn alludes to the value of patience and the art of giving things time. There will be a lot of impressions to take in from the ethers, via communications, dreams, reflections, and our own subconscious, throughout Mercury’s transit through Pisces. This is a delicate process that shouldn’t be artificially or forcibly expedited. Venus in Aries squaring Jupiter in Capricorn wants everything yesterday, and is definitely in search of more happiness, pleasure and fulfillment. Remind yourself often that what is intended for you will come to you, if you find the lack of clarity and definition of Mercury rx in Pisces, and the discipline, hard work, patience, stoicism, and “stiff upper lip” required of the Cap stellium in the face of all that, to be messing with your head. (It’s gonna mess with us all I can fucking guarantee this.) But there’s a lot of compassion to be found in the notion that we’re all actually in the same boat, (and nobody actually really knows what they’re even doing.) We’re all just doing the best we can. Interpersonally speaking, the more skillfully that we are manning our own ships, taking care of our own side of the street, managing our own problems and issues, tending to our own responsibilities, and committed to our own personal growth and development, the more likely it is for relations with others to go along in pleasant, constructive, and even healing ways. Today can definitely see a desire to make things happen begin to build. These are some pretty adventurous, pioneering configurations that cry out for change and something to feel hopeful, positive, and excited about, but we can also feel a bit uncertain, out on a limb, or vulnerable to the seeming instability, fluctuation, or just “foreign elements” of situations, circumstances, or people. Big learning curves. Best advice through any muck or fuckery is to focus on making the absolute best out of everything you *do* have personal control over, and focus extra hard on that if/when you find yourself tripping balls over any unknowns, shady business, or things, people, or situations that may seem less than ideal, but aren’t within your dominion of control to change. Perhaps say the serenity prayer and remind yourself everybody is doing the best they can with the cards they’ve been dealt. In the absence of concrete, factual information, or the presence of deception, evasion, uncertainty, confusion, or fugazi, -cling to whatever hard facts you do have at your disposal. “When I get exercise, I feel good and handle stress better. When I put in more effort at work, I make more money. When I say encouraging, constructive things to myself, I feel better.” Sit on your collection of precious hard facts like it’s your personal island of sanity.

TUESDAY FEB 18.

Today see’s the Moon in Capricorn conjunct Mars and Jupiter, trine Uranus, and square Chiron and Venus in Aries. Needless to say, we could feel more than ready to initiate some big changes. This Cap stellium is amazing for making life affirming reforms. The Sun will head into Pisces later this evening around 9 PM PST, signaling a time of endings, release, and reflection, while we simultaneously embark on some pretty major life overhauls with the powerful Capricorn stellium leading the way. Venus in Aries could see some impatience, but it’s probably wise to slow down and try to reign in certain impulses to push or force things ahead, as with Mercury now retrograde in elusive Pisces, and Mars trine Uranus in Capricorn, things could change and then change again, unexpected things can crop up, or new information could reveal itself, so it’s a good idea to make sure you have all the facts and understand all the fine print before making any major decisions or commitments that aren’t easy to back out of. Certain things may require a “wait and see” approach. Today actually looks somewhat exciting, creative, and grounded, and there can be a renewed enthusiasm to really get back on track or “back in the saddle” about something. We can feel quietly optimistic about putting our energy into new, exciting endeavors, creative directions, or picking something back up, dusting it off, and making a renewed commitment to it. Evening time see’s a lunar sextile to Mercury rx, which could bring in some news, or unexpected communications, or simply a wave of inspiration, illumination, or insight that can subtly boost optimism or faith levels around something important to us. With the lunar squares to both Venus and Chiron, it’s no doubt that certain things, perhaps interpersonally, have us feeling a bit challenged or vulnerable, and can require us to really dip into our reserve of courage, but with this stellium in Cap at the wheel, such courage, determination, and inner solidity can feel much easier to muster. The Sun in Pisces sextile Uranus suggests that inspired insights, strokes of genius, psychic impressions from out of the blue, dreams, and time spent in reflection, can all offer valuable signposts and guidance that can assist in finding our footing as we step into new directions, or look at old things or situations in a new way. There’s definitely a strong desire to make powerful changes from the inside out in this math, and there’s a lot of creativity available within it.

WEDNSDAY FEB 19.
Today see’s the Moon in Capricorn sextile Mercury and Neptune in Pisces, square Venus in Aries, and conjunct Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in Cap. This can actually see some really inspired transformations taking place from deep within, and some deep insights can be gleaned, as well as some intense communications or impressions. There is a strange mixture between realism and high idealism in the picture. Many things are still in the imaginal stages, but we can see some inspired and determined actions towards very specific goals, transformations, and reforms. Our enthusiasm can be spurred on by others, and impatience (Venus in Aries), can be funneled into enthusiasm and drive towards self directed initiatives, improving our own lot, and building courage. The planets in Cap encourage us to keep our feet on the ground, cultivate self discipline, and maintain a sense of realism, while the Pisces/Neptune influences encourage us to dream big. Because Mercury is retrograde in Pisces conjunct Neptune, there can be a tendency to entertain delusions or go off at mental tangents, or foray off into fantasies that are completely out of touch with reality, or to see things through a rose colored lens. This can be great for the arts and excellent fodder for imaginative pursuits, but take care not to base major decisions off of seeing and hearing only what you want to see and hear, as the repercussions later can create some complications that could be difficult or awkward to unravel or reverse. Realism and dealing in actual facts (and not simply painting white roses red) is extra important right now. The stellium in Cap demands Tegrity(TM.) The tendency towards delusion and deception (self deception as well as deceptiveness of others) is rather high with Mercury backtracking here. Otherwise, it’s really positive for increasing compassion, lowering walls and defenses, and stimulating the imaginative and emotional processes. Todays math see’s our feet on the ground, while our head is in the clouds. There can be a flood of inspiration, and inspiring communications that transpire today. There’s an intensity to this math as well as a certain “weirdness” and unconventionality. When I look at this math though, as grounded and practical as the Cap stellium is, I can’t help but hear the word “inspiration.” There’s definitely something inspired happening here, and it does also make me think of Alice In Wonderland, as things are definitely also a bit…out there, there’s a strangeness, and surreality to it all. Venus in Aries square Jupiter has an itch to scratch and is in a low key fevered pursuit of happiness and pleasure. This can drive people to make premature moves or decisions if they aren’t cautious, but it can also bring a lot of enthusiasm and motivation where it may have been lacking before. This looks like a productive and inspiring day, and a lot of changes or unexpected surprises could be on their way.

THURSDAY FEB 20.
This morning begins on a somewhat somber, if subtly destabilized or “shook” vibe, with the Moon in late Capricorn conjunct Saturn and Pluto, and building a square to Uranus. There could be some last minute things to take care of and it could feel like a slow, uphill grind. Around noon,  the Moon shifts into unconventional Aquarius, and forms a sextile to Chiron in Aries, so it could feel like progress is being made towards goals and we can feel a sense of sasatisfaction and more hope about the future. There can be a lot that is unexpected, bizarre, or just plain weird about what’s happening now, and a lot can be going on under the radar, but there’s something about it that can increase confidence and courage levels. But there’s also perhaps a lot of unanswered questions, mysteries, or unknowns. We may relish a challenge, and “bucking the norm.” There’s a rebelliousness, and detached independence to this math that appears to be attempting to fuse the past and the future together somehow, or break away from constraints in the name of self interest. Calculated risks. The Sun in Pisces conjunct Mercury retrograde, and sextile Mars in Capricorn, and Uranus in Taurus suggests there’s a LOT to reflect upon in regards to risks we could be considering taking or the potential directions we could head in. Much can feel as if we’re standing on shifting sands or as if new information could come to our attention at any moment and change everything. It could feel exciting and stimulating actually, but also somewhat unstable. With Mars trine Uranus though, it’s clear we need a change, and both of these planets in methodical earth signs encourages slow, patient and innovative changes and reforms, as opposed to impulsive, bogus, or half cocked moves. The foundations have to be solid and correct, so it’s good to reflect rather than simply react, to make sure we have our facts straight.

THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY FEB 21.
Today see’s the Moon in detached, cerebral, unorthodox Aquarius form a sextile to Venus in impulsive, passionate Aries. This can see some…weird, unexpected interpersonal experiences. A lunar trine to Juno (also retrograde), suggests past alliances can factor in somehow, or that something about present situations is putting a new or illuminating spin on our interpersonal past. Venus in Aries is about new beginnings, relationally, financially, or in regards to pleasure, abundance, love, beauty, and all the good things in life. We can be feeling to be in a strange and experimental place as the weekend kicks off, and perhaps willing to give something or someone “odd” a go, or to take a new approach to an old relationship or situation, or just interpersonally in general. Something unusual about our circumstances may push us to make some unconventional choices in the pursuit of happiness and pleasure. With the Moon in Aquarius, there’s an emotional detachment here, and a tendency to run the feelings through a lot of intellectual analysis, but in spite of this, the sextile to Venus can see the opportunity for some warm, charming social interactions or interpersonal exchanges. Because Mercury is retrograde in Pisces, it’s as if the feelings are playing “catch up”. Venus in Aries places the emphasis on the passions, and their apparent immediacy, while the Moon in Aquarius tends to connect best emotionally via an intellectual rapport and a shared vision. There’s a subtle impatience or mental/emotional restlessness that can be detected via a lunar semisquare to Mars in Capricorn, but there’s a clear emphasis on exploring future possibilities. Today can see some interesting, odd, but pleasant experiences and exchanges. Much can be very surprising, weird, and unconventional right now.

SATURDAY FEB 22.
Saturday see’s the Moon in Aquarius until late evening, and doesn’t form any exact aspects except an out of sign conjunction with the Sun in Pisces in preparation for tomorrows New Moon. With the Sun forming aspects to Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus, it’s clear there’s a lot to take in and reflect upon. This is a loopy vibe, and the Sun shines a light on various urges, drives, desires, communications, blockages, and changes that have been transpiring. With the North and South nodes both in positive contact to the Sun and Mercury in Pisces, this represents an important, if fated, juncture. The Sun’s contact to Uranus in combination with it’s trine to the North Node in Cancer suggests a making peace with the past somehow, doing something differently, approaching it differently, not necessarily in the way that is comfortable, habitual, or familiar,  but in the way that is necessary for continued healing and growth. The New Moon tomorrow can usher in some kind of cathartic release. Late tonight, the Moon enters sensitive and intuitive Pisces, conjunct the Sun, Mercury, and sextile Uranus. The psychic ethers can be lit, and we’re called to release our grip and embrace a new, more enlightened perspective on things. Radical acceptance. Meditation, reflection, and spiritual pursuits can be grounding and soothing.

SUNDAY FEB 23.

Today see’s the new moon in Pisces conjunct the Sun, Mercury, and Neptune, and sextile Mars in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus. These configurations speak of surrender, release, radical acceptance, compassion, forgiveness, letting go of attachment to outcomes, while also simultaneously working patiently and diligently towards positive and dynamic change and deep transformation and reform. New Moons are about new beginnings and planting seeds. In the case of this one, in the middle of a Mercury retrograde, it’s more like a major soil rehabilitation. We’ve got to release old, outworn, limited patterns of thinking, behaving, perceiving, and communicating, in order for the seeds we plant to bear the nutritious, delicious, edible fruits of our dreams later. This day has a dreamy, inspired, reflective, imaginative, sensitive, mostly passive, mellow, soft and impressionable vibe that is well suited for contemplation, relaxation, spiritual, healing, or artistic pursuits. The channels for communication are also wide open as well, and there can be some compassionate exchanges and even seemingly telepathic links. We can be really sensitive and impressionable to what we hear, see, and feel, which can have us tend towards passivity or solitude. Later on, Mercury sextiles Mars which can make communications more forthright and bring us more out of our shells to share whatever psychic impressions we’ve been reflecting on. This can see some soulful and passionate exchanges.

Thanks for reading. Stay curious fam. See you next Monday.

Astrology For The Week Of Feb 10-16 2020.

MONDAY FEB 10.
After a full Moon in dramatic and expressive Leo, we begin the week on a more “back to basics” note, with the Moon in Virgo. With the Moon opposite Mercury and Neptune in Pisces, and trine Uranus in Taurus, Jupiter in Capricorn, and later, Pluto and Saturn, the need for discernment, elimination, and to simplify matters that may have felt convoluted, unclear, or out of control, and to innovate a new, clear path forward amidst rather confusing, bemusing, or highly unconventional circumstances, -can be very apparent. The Virgo lunation seeks to bring order to disorder in the name of purification. The trine to Jupiter in Capricorn can see us derive a sense of calm, optimism, centeredness, and security via efforts towards simplification and elimination. Striving towards a reduction of chaos, entropy, uncertainty, unnecessary confusion, delusions, and illusions appears to be the goal of these particular configurations. This would seem apropos, as Mercury due to station retrograde on Sunday, to spend an unusually long time in the slippery sign of Pisces (through to April), it would be wise to simplify your life as much as possible. Mercury is in it’s detriment in Pisces and at it’s least logical and rational here, so much can feel up in the air, unclear, unsorted, and in flux, during this long, highly reflective, fugazi of a Mercury cycle. So this Virgo lunation in the first portion of the week is of particular importance and should be viewed as an opportunity to prepare, -by drastically simplifying things for yourself as much as humanly possible. Todays math illustrates a shift in direction, a shift in priorities, and a powerful focus and determination to stay on track in spite of some extremely confusing, bewildering, distracting, dissolving, deceptive, spaced out, and otherwise tricksy, uncertain influences. There is a quiet optimism in these configurations that suggests that although certain things may not have gone down as planned, and certain hopes may have been dashed, there are some unanticipated possibilities or potentialities emerging within a silver lining that we may not have even considered, and this can create a feeling of cautious, but steadily growing optimism. With Venus now in impatient Aries, and Mars in the last degrees of Sagittarius, due to shift into Capricorn this Sunday, -the need to take some kind of action that will drastically change the whole damn game- will continue to build throughout this week.

TUESDAY FEB 11.

Today begins with the Moon in late Virgo square Mars in Sagittarius and trine Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. This can see the day start on a somewhat energized, if rather anxious, nervous, potentially nit picky note. The Moon in Virgo tends to zoom in on problem areas and can be prone to worry, perfectionism, or being overly critical of self or others. Simultaneously, this can be very catalyzing energy towards really making improvements and taking care of business, and the lunar trines to Saturn and Pluto provide a lot of discipline and determination to “clean everything up”, and get rid of any unnecessary bullshit clogging up the works. There can be an impatience to cut to the chase and get to the pure essence of things, or a desire to get everything “perfect”, fucking yesterday. We may wrestle with doubts or simply anxiety over what could go wrong, feel anxious to improve ourselves and/or certain situations or circumstances, but otherwise this is potentially a very productive energy. Later on in the afternoon, the Moon heads into partnership oriented Libra to oppose Venus and Chiron in Aries.  This places emphasis upon our interactions with others, which can produce some feelings of vulnerability and impatience. A lunar quincunx to Uranus in Taurus can see us nervous and excitable, but also somewhat impulsive. Whatever is going on now interpersonally can see people feeling highly sensitive to the undercurrents within relationship dynamics. As Mars in late Sagittarius inches closer towards Capricorn it builds a square with Chiron in Aries, which suggests that the coming Mars cycle can see people feeling really “out on a limb”, perhaps asserting themselves and then feeling somewhat vulnerable afterwards while they wait for the results or response, as Mars in Capricorn is about the long game, and patient, consistent effort and determination towards a goal. So things may take some time, and this need for patience can test peoples confidence levels, as results will not be instant. The progress made during this oncoming cycle (Mars moves into Cap on Sunday), will be slow, deep, and meaningful.

WEDNSDAY FEB 12.
Todays astrological special is the Moon in Libra opposite Venus in Aries and square Jupiter in Capricorn, while Mars begins to build a sextile to the Sun in Aquarius. This can see cautious optimism along with a growing desire to move things along, or at least begin to think about potential future actions. There could be something unconventional about whatever is unfolding interpersonally, and things can take time and patience, and require a realistic outlook and keeping your feet on the ground. Mercury conjunct Neptune can make this challenging at times, as this creates a mental and communicative landscape that can veer between poetic, idealistic and dreamy, to foggy, misty and nebulous. Tests of faith. Faith in ourselves, faith in others, faith in the universe as a whole. It could also test our very sense of direction. They say anxiety is thinking too much of the future, and depression is thinking too much of the past, so keeping our feet planted firmly on the ground in the here and now will be key to curbing impatience and making steady progress towards realistic, realizable goals. The needs of ourselves and those of others, or simply envisioning how/where/when others can be factored into our lives while still keeping our own ships afloat can be a theme in todays mathscape. The lunar trine to the Sun in Aquarius, and a square to Pluto in Capricorn later this evening highlights visions of the possible futures, and all the how’s, who’s, when’s, what’s, and where’s that realizing certain visions, and bringing things into fruition, will involve. We can be feeling somewhat intense around certain things, and there can be a lot that’s under the surface. It could feel that a lot is at stake. This will take balance, harmonization, cooperation, diplomacy, patience, and cohesion to navigate.

THURSDAY FEB 13.
Today begins with the Moon in late Libra conjunct Juno, trine the Sun, sextile Mars, square Saturn and Pluto, and growing in opposition to Uranus in Taurus. It could be that people could feel a growing desire to penetrate a veneer of nicety and move things into deeper territory, or push something/someone off of a fence. It could also be that recent interpersonal shifts and initiatives have given much to chew on. Early evening see’s the Moon move into deep, and emotionally intense Scorpio to oppose Uranus, where we could ask more probing questions of ourselves or others, or pull back in an attempt to detach in order to reflect and absorb any and all recent revelations. It’s all been quite a lot to take in. The Moon/Uranus opposition can see emotional restlessness, and the emotions and instinctual nature in general can be intense, changeable, volatile, or surprising. Sensitivity can be very heightened, and people are simply more likely to behave like freaks under this configuration, (be forewarned.) There can be some intense or surprising communications, revelations, powerful synchronicities, or things revealed over the next few days under the curious and investigative Scorpio lunation that can take things into an odd or experimental direction.

THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY FEB 14.
Happy Valentines day. <3 Today can see some unexpected but perhaps pleasant surprises with the Scorpio Moon trine Venus and Neptune in Pisces, and opposite Uranus. Mars in the last degrees of Sagittarius building a trine to Uranus in Taurus could see some bold, experimental, and innovative initiatives and calculated risks being taken over the coming months. With both the Moon and Mercury in trine to the north node in Cancer, this suggests backtracking in some way, perhaps there is something valuable in the past that could do with a second, perhaps more thoughtful analysis and assessment. A deeper introspection upon something we may have left behind may be called for, in order to forge a path to the future. These configurations also call us to be vulnerable in some way and to step deeper into the feelings. Later a lunar sextile to Jupiter can make us feel fortunate and perhaps more settled and optimistic emotionally. The channels of communication can also be wide open and it’s possible to communicate much and extract a great deal of information and emotional impressions from seemingly very little, or right out of thin air. The veil between ourselves and others can feel much thinner. Being that it’s valentines day, it’s also possible that there can be some touching gestures or exchanges between others, some of which may be quite unexpected. There could also be a lot of wistfulness or longing for something or someone that feels to be missing, or some very romanticized ideals around something or someone. These are some pretty beautiful configurations for creativity, inspiration, and imaginative or aesthetic expression as well. Words spoken or impressions received can touch us deeply under todays math, and the emotional and instinctual landscape is rich and highly nuanced.

SATURDAY FEB 15.
Today see’s the Moon in late Scorpio square the Sun in Aquarius, and trine Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. Mars in the final degree of Sagittarius sextile the Sun in Aquarius suggests preparation for future actions, and our eyes can very much be on a distant horizon. Whatever is going on now can definitely be pushing a comfort zone, require a lot of innovation, and “buck the expected norm” in some way (Moon square Sun,) but oddly, we can also feel emotionally settled and actually really comfortable about this. Even more odd, considering Venus is in Aries, we can even feel some sense of satisfaction from being..(*GASP!*) patient. By the time evening arrives, the Moon heads into adventurous and optimistic Sagittarius to trine Chiron in Aries. This can see us feeling more courage and optimism. Although, with Mercury about to station retrograde tomorrow, nothing is yet set in stone, but we can definitely be feeling more positive and less risk averse about the possibilities opening up for us, and this increased openness  can invite a lot of potential for healing-even if nothing seems to make any GOTTAYUM sense-(and chances are, it reaaaally fucking doesn’t and we’re all kind of just making this up as we go along, and could be questioning absolutely everything right about now.) Welcome to Wonderland. Enjoy your stay.

SUNDAY FEB 16.
Today see’s the Moon in curious and explorative Sagittarius square Mercury and Neptune in Pisces, and trine Venus and Chiron in Aries. There is an innocence and naivety to these configurations that is just adorable, -but also a tad precarious and somewhat nebulous. Fortunately, Mars moves into Capricorn today, where it is exalted. Here, Mars is wise, mature, discerning, energetically economical, congruent, resilient, patient, determined and sturdy. This will help to mitigate the childlike romantic idealism, impulsiveness, impressionability, or wishy washy confusion of the other configurations. Mercury stations retrograde today around 4 PM PST, taking us on an extended reflective and nostalgic journey through the feelings, the unconscious, and the psychological processes. It’s a lot to unpack and examine. A lot of things from the past can resurface for reexamination. Todays configurations can actually see us longing for what we feel to be were simpler times, and there could be a desire to recapture or revitalize something that was lost. The lunar square to Mercury in Pisces as it stations retrograde can have us seeing things through a very subjective lens, so it’s important to make extra effort to ensure we’re viewing things realistically and operating under a factual pretense, as it can be very easy to let our imaginations become carried away in fantasies. But that need not be a bad thing, as these configurations can produce some inspired feelings, and we can feel motivated by the idea of love, beauty, creativity, and pleasure. With Mars now in Capricorn, we can be readying ourselves to work up the confidence to take some decisive actions and make some serious, and innovative power moves next week, beginning as soon as Monday.

Thanks for reading! Stay curious fam. I’ll see you next Monday.

Astrology For The Week Of Feb 3-9 2020.

MONDAY FEB 3.
We begin the week with the Moon in communicative, multitasking Gemini, squaring up to Mercury which has just entered Pisces as of this morning.  This suggests that there could be some conflicting emotional information to sort out, decipher, and attempt to make some sense of. These configurations can see Monday get off to a groggy, spaced out start that can make it a bit difficult to concentrate and focus. Mercury in Pisces isn’t exactly well suited for logical undertakings that require rational analysis and sticking to the facts, and is more disposed towards the imaginal realms. Any fugazi experienced recently due to Mars in Sagittarius square to Neptune can feel somewhat magnified today. A lunar trine to the Sun in Aquarius later on encourages an elevated emotional detachment from any vexing riddles or foggy territory for the time being. (The mere act of thinking straight is undermined enough as it is.)  There will be plenty of time to venture down Mercury’s rabbit hole as it will spend a longer than usual time in Pisces due to the upcoming retrograde. It will station retrograde on Feb 16th at 12 degrees Pisces. This particular Mercury cycle will attempt to make sense of feelings, impressions, and other such emotional mysteries, to decipher fact from fiction, hopes and fears from delusion, and release any psychological detritus that blocks a clear path forward. Mercury in Pisces can offer a lot of good creative fodder, psychic impressions, spiritual experiences, and generally bring feelings closer to the surface and heighten sensitivity.

TUESDAY FEB 4.

Today see’s the Gemini Moon trine the Sun in Aquarius, opposite Mars in Sagittarius, and square to Neptune. So yea, interpersonally, things might be a bit of a confusing mess, but again, the lunar trine to detached Aquarius places a gentle hand on the shoulder and just say’s “stay above it. Don’t let it get to you, keep your head about you.”  The Moon opposite Mars can feel kind of frustrating, pressured, or scattered, or magnify a feeling of being blocked somehow, whether by internal resistances or external circumstances. This can create a sort of antsy feeling, but can also serve as a sort of "charge". The squares to Neptune can make it feel like all efforts come to naught and can feel somewhat demotivating at times, like funneling energy, passion, drive, or enthusiasm into a black hole. This will pass. If you’re feeling all “at sea”, just try to stay focused on your own goals that don’t require input, participation, or reliability from anyone else, because there is actually a lot of energy and motivation available, and a lot of compassion as well. The Moon/ Mars opposition can be kind of grumpy, argumentative, and irritable, so if you find that your own will is in conflict with that of others, just try and channel this into some kind of physical activity or do something to help you let off steam. Later in the evening, a lunar square to Venus in Pisces highlights subtle interpersonal tensions, or confusion, perhaps regarding being in two minds about something or someone, or simply a lack of clarity. It can also be really imaginative and idealistic, really good for creativity, aesthetics, and the arts. However, it’s clear in this math that something is a bit maddening or confusing, and it’s possible that any attempt at confrontation or communication around it would probably only make it even more slippery for the time being. Conversely, this could also be catalyzing, inspiring, and stimulating, especially creatively or spiritually, and could even produce some pleasant experiences interpersonally, or some imaginative ideas if you're an artist or musician. Venus and Neptune are both about making life more beautiful, and prefer to avoid anything harsh or unpleasant. Perhaps tomorrow would be better suited to approach any delicate, sensitive, or awkward topics if you've got a bone to pick with someone. For now, maybe just pull a John Lennon and Let It Be.

WEDNSDAY FEB 5.
Today, the Moon shifts into emo Cancer around 11 AM PST. This see’s the Moon square Chiron in Aries, sextile Uranus in Taurus, and most importantly, trine Mercury in Pisces. This combined with Venus and Mars no longer in square to one another, and Venus and Saturn in harmonious sextile, suggests that people may find it easier to broach certain topics or express certain feelings that have been difficult to discuss or articulate before. These configurations also suggest we could receive some unexpected or surprising news or communications. Something could come to light that perhaps illuminates  or enlightens us to something that maybe we were previously unaware of. This is a bit of a “confession” type mathscape. The lunar square to Chiron suggests a lot of vulnerability, and perhaps not everything is easy peasy to talk about or reveal (or have revealed to you.) But the positive side is that dialogue is flowing where it perhaps wasn’t before. People could be getting some things off their chests under these configurations, and there could be some surprising things uttered. People can be more apt to talk about their feelings, and this can take emotions into new or surprising directions. With Venus in the late degrees of Pisces and getting closer to Aries (and Chiron), and with a full Moon around the corner in Leo, much right now is all about building up courage and confidence for new beginnings. Today some sort of floodgate is opened that makes it easier for people to open up emotionally and otherwise, and there is a lot of receptivity and compassion available, even if what comes to light isn’t 100 percent easy to swallow or deal with.  These configurations definitely show an element of surprise, and can help bring awareness to where it was lacking before. Perhaps light is shed on matters that have seemed mysterious or confusing.

THURSDAY FEB 6.
Today see’s the Moon in Cancer still trine Mercury in the early am hours, but also trine Neptune, and opposite Jupiter in Capricorn. This can definitely see the feelings somewhat magnified, and boundaries can be somewhat blurred. It’s possible to be preoccupied with whether or not we’ve shared “too much”. The Moon in Cancer is concerned with security, with safety, and the opposition to Jupiter in Capricorn can bring this to the fore. People want to be sure they are making the right/safe choices, and aren’t being bamboozled. Regardless, there is a compelling pull to dissolve certain barriers and be more emotionally open and receptive. As early evening arrives however, the Moon goes on to oppose Saturn and Pluto as well, and this can add some intensity around doing so. These configurations can magnify fears around vulnerability, and for some can see some reflexive defense mechanisms and walls flying up complete with moat, drawbridge, and alligators. We are reminded of the need to be circumspect, cautious, or strategic, but it doesn’t mean we need to close off entirely. Again, with the full moon around the corner, much of this is simply a matter of developing courage and confidence.

THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY FEB 7.
The weekend starts off rather eventful astrologically speaking. We begin Friday morning with the Moon in late Cancer trine Venus in the final degree of Pisces, and also trine Chiron in Aries, while still opposing Saturn and Pluto. There is a lot of intensity in this math, as it’s also leading up to a full moon. This math is interesting and a few things could be going on here. On the one hand, it appears to be the closing of one door and the slow opening of another, or in other words, boundaries being placed in one area and removed slowly in another. Venus moves into assertive Aries around noon PST, heralding new beginnings interpersonally and/or materially/financially. So the phasing out and phasing in of something is very evident here, and whatever this is requires a LOT of courage, and for our confidence levels to be very on point. Around 2:45 PM PST, the Moon enters showy and theatrical Leo, squaring Uranus in Taurus, trine Venus in Aries, and Chiron. This is some pretty radical stuff, and I can’t emphasize doing whatever you can to increase your levels of self confidence enough, as it’s literally the key to unlock the best of this math. This can definitely see some big changes happening interpersonally and/or financially for people, but relationships in general are really highlighted here. There could be a lot of excitement around whatever this is, but also the potential for drama and theatrics, (so try to stay clear of going full Soap Opera or Jerry Springer.) Build ups to full moons are always intense and tend to magnify everything. Personally, as a musician, I’m just looking forward to some fire AF freestyles. For the rest of you, it’s highly possible you could be seeing some healing new beginnings, particularly in the relationship department. Least of all, in the *self love* department. In the very least, a phasing out of shitty, undermining situations or dynamics, and the arrival of fresh, inspiring, life affirming ones. If it’s sucked the life and joy and confidence out of you, this Full Moon in Leo will have you like “yea so.. I was thinking..fuck this.” You aren’t gonna take it anymore and it’s exciting. Go you.

SATURDAY FEB 8.
Today see’s the classic Moon opposite Sun configuration known to all full Moons. With Venus now in Aries and conjunct Chiron, there can be more of a feeling of “urgency” and impatience around the pursuit of pleasure and doing what feels good. With the Moon in Leo, the emphasis is definitely on fun, enjoyment, and following our bliss. The actual full Moon doesn’t perfect until 11:33 PM PST tonight, but needless to say, the energy of the full Moon will be felt all day. Around 7 PM, the Moon in Leo makes a trine to Mars in late Sagittarius, which really ramps up enthusiasm and energy levels quite a bit, as this is an adventurous aspect that can make it hard to sit still. This can definitely see people on the move/on the prowl, in search for some fun mischief to get themselves into. It’s definitely a creative, enthusiastic, curious, courageous, and exploratory vibe that wants fun, fresh stuff to happen. This could see people work up the balls to take the initiative around something or break new ground and enter into new territory somehow. It looks creatively stimulating to say the least.

SUNDAY FEB 9.
Today begins with the Moon in late Leo, trine both Mars and Uranus. This suggests that whatever’s got our mojo going will require changes and preparation on the physical plane. The first half of the day looks fun, stimulating and exciting, with a lot of spontaneity thrown in. The Moon enters detail oriented and anxious Virgo around 4 PM PST, and opposes Mercury in Pisces. This could see a little bit of indecision, subtle anxieties or doubts in the background, but the lunar trine to Uranus is much stronger and pushes us to bust out of ruts or comfort zones. There may be a lot that’s still unclear or that feels unresolved or foggy, but equally, there will be a lot of determination to sort it all out and get to the bottom of it. The Virgo lunation encourages attention to details, and the need to get organized and efficient, make improvements, fix what's broken, and prevent problems from escalating. Mars will move into Capricorn next week, which will see a major push to completely overhaul something or take concrete actions around something we feel deeply invested in and determined around. Next week, it’s time to get cereal.
